Itinerary
- Day 1
Flight to Yerevan
This evening you'll fly to Yerevan, arriving late into the night. The flight gets you to Armenia's capital, and you'll head to your hotel to rest before the full itinerary begins tomorrow morning.
- Day 2
Yerevan
You'll arrive early in the morning and meet your guide at the airport, then drive to the hotel for a late breakfast. After settling in, you'll walk through Yerevan to see how the city mixes ancient and modern architecture. Later, you'll listen to traditional duduk music in a private home, then visit the Erebuni Archaeological Museum to learn more about the area's history. Before heading back, you'll stop at the Persian mosque to understand more about Armenian culture.

Ashtarak - Yerevan
You'll head out early to reach Amberd fortress, which sits at 2,300 meters on a high plateau with clear views of Mount Ararat on the horizon. The drive covers about 150 kilometers total. From there, you'll visit Saghmosawank Psalm Monastery, then stop in the village of Ashtarak to watch locals bake traditional Armenian lavash bread in a private house. On the way back to Yerevan, you'll stop at Tsitsernakaberd memorial to pay respects and learn about its significance.

Noravank - Areni
Starting early, you'll drive to Chor Virap monastery for views of Mount Ararat, then continue to the 13th-century Noravank monastery, which has intricate stone reliefs and overlooks a deep mountain gorge. After that, you'll head to Areni village for a wine tasting of the local dry wine, which has been produced in this region for thousands of years. The full day covers about 250 kilometers, so you'll be on the road quite a bit, but the scenery and stops make it worthwhile.

Sevanavank - Goshawank - Fioletovo
You'll drive out to Lake Sevan, sitting at almost 2,000 meters altitude and known as one of the world's highest lakes. From there, you'll climb basalt steps to reach Sevanavank monastery on a peninsula jutting into the water, then have lunch in a private home. Later, you'll visit Goshawank monastery, where Armenia's first code of law was written back in the 13th century. By evening, you'll reach Fioletovo, a Molokan village, where you'll have tea and time to exchange stories with locals. This day covers roughly 280 kilometers.

Haghbat Monastery
You'll head to Haghbat, the most important monastery in northern Armenia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll see khachkars, which are finely carved cross stones that hold deep meaning in Armenian tradition. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll make the drive back to Yerevan, covering about 280 kilometers for the day.

Zvartnots - Akna Lich - Yerevan
Starting with a drive to Echmiadzin Monastery with Mount Ararat visible in the distance, you'll stop at the remains of a 7th-century round church called Zvartnots. Then you'll explore Echmiadzin Cathedral, founded in the 4th century and the center of the Armenian Gregorian Church. You'll also check out the smaller churches of St. Gajane and Hripsime. Later, you'll visit Akna Lich village to see the world's largest Yezidi temple and meet someone from the Yezidi community. Back in Yerevan by late afternoon, you'll spend time at the History Museum on Republic Square, then head to the central market hall to sample Armenian food and have dinner at a local restaurant. The driving distance for the day is about 100 kilometers.

Garni - Geghard - Brandy Distillery
You'll start at Matenadaran, a center holding over 14,000 ancient Armenian manuscripts. From there, you'll go to Garni to see a 7th-century Hellenistic temple dedicated to the sun god Mithras, then take time to walk down into Garni Gorge and see the impressive basalt rock formations. You'll visit the nearby summer palace of old Armenian kings, then head to Geghard cave monastery, which is partly carved directly into the rock. Later, you'll tour an Armenian brandy distillery and do some tastings. The total driving distance comes to about 80 kilometers.
