Your flight touches down in Naples today. Once you arrive and get settled, you'll have a welcome drink, either a cappuccino or wine, before heading to dinner.

Naples
Start with Castel St. Elmo in the Vomero district, where you get views over the city and down to the Gulf of Naples. From there, check out the historic monastery and cloister at Santa Chiara. Next comes the National Archaeological Museum, which holds some incredible pieces from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Before the afternoon frees up for your own exploration, walk through the Galleria Umberto.

Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii
Head up Mount Vesuvius for panoramic views from the summit across the Gulf of Naples. After that, you'll walk through Pompeii, moving past forums, thermal baths, theaters, and homes that were frozen in time during the 79 AD eruption. Later, you drive about 70 kilometers to Mercato San Severino and your next hotel.

Amalfi Coast and Ravello
Today takes you along one of Italy's most beautiful coastlines. The drive passes through Positano and Amalfi before reaching Ravello, a quiet town perched on the hills. You'll visit the cathedral, then spend time at Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, both with gardens overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. It's about a 50 kilometer drive total.

Paestum and Ferry to Capri
Paestum shows you three ancient Greek temples, some of the best surviving examples of Greek culture in southern Italy. The on-site museum has temple pieces and the famous 'Diver' image. By late afternoon, you board a ferry to Capri. You'll cover around 130 kilometers in total today.

Capri
Start with a hike to Villa Jovis, where Roman Emperor Tiberius lived out his final years, taking roughly ninety minutes on foot. Augustus Gardens gives you views of the Faraglioni cliffs, and the scenic Via Krupp path drops down toward the water. Later, wander the quiet streets of Capri Town and have dinner at a local restaurant there or in Anacapri.

Anacapri and Ferry to Ischia
Villa San Michele sits high on the island and belonged to Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe, with sweeping sea views throughout. You'll see the small San Michele church, then take a chairlift up to Monte Solaro, the highest point on the island, for more views. In the afternoon, take a ferry to Ischia, the largest island in the Gulf of Naples.

Ischia
A tour around the island shows you Ischia's volcanic landscape and green vegetation, centered around the extinct Monte Epomeo. You'll pass through the towns of Forio, Lacco Ameno, and Casamicciola, then the capital Ischia-Porto. The Aragonese castle sits in Ischia-Ponte, connected to town by bridge. The drive covers about 25 kilometers.

Procida
Procida is tiny, just four square kilometers, and sits not far from Ischia. Check out Terra Murata, a former prison, and take in views across the island and water. Walk around the main town's harbor area. By afternoon, return to Ischia to visit the fishing port and marina, then you have free time to explore, grab a glass of wine, or relax by the hotel pool.

Return to Munich
