    Your flight to Muscat departs today. Depending on your connection, you'll arrive in Muscat either in the evening or early the next morning.

    Muscat

    Start exploring Muscat and see how the city blends old traditions with modern development. Head to the Great Mosque of Sultan Qaboos, then walk past the Sultan's Palace with the historic Mirani and Jalali forts on either side. Stop at Riyam Park for views across the city. Later, hike through a wadi to reach Mutrah Souk where you can browse through saffron, clothes, antiques and silver jewelry.

    Muscat to Jebel Shams

    Leave Muscat and drive through the fishing village of Seeb toward the oasis of Nakhl, which sits at the foot of Jebel Akhdar. Check out the fort with its detailed stonework, then continue through striking landscapes to Wadi Bani Auf and its palm-lined gorge. Walk through the terraced village of Bilad Sayt before hiking up to your camp on Jebel Shams.

    Jebel Shams

    Head higher into the mountains by off-road vehicle, reaching the plateau at 1,950 meters altitude. Hike across Jebel Shams with views down into wadis roughly 1,500 meters below. Follow the canyon, have a picnic lunch surrounded by alpine-like Arabian landscapes, and cross several plateaus. You'll descend using the same route back to your starting point.

    Jebel Shams to Jabrin

    Drive by off-road vehicle to Al Khitaym village and start hiking along an old mule track that runs beside a canyon. You'll reach an ancient town built directly into the rocks where families still live and farm terraced fields with watermelons, onions, tomatoes and goats. After that, visit Jabrin Palace with its beautiful decorated windows and wooden galleries, then stop by an old mud house in Al Hamra village.

End at a rose water distillery in Sayq, then drive by off-road vehicle into Wahiba Sands desert and head to your desert camp.

    Wahiba Sands to Wadi Bani Khalid

    Leave the desert to visit Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most beautiful wadis. Walk along narrow paths beside small waterways to find pools of clear water tucked between rounded rocks. Check out Muqil Cave and take a swim in the cool water if you'd like. Grab a picnic lunch in the wadi before heading back to the desert.
