Arrival in Hurghada
You'll arrive in Hurghada on the Red Sea coast where your Egyptian adventure begins. Welcome to Soma Bay!

Soma Bay to Luxor
After breakfast, you'll drive to Luxor, which is about 285 km away. Once there, you board your 5-star river cruise ship for your first night aboard.

Valley of the Kings and Temple Sites
This morning you'll start exploring the monuments of ancient Thebes with the Colossi of Memnon, then see the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut. After that, head into the Valley of the Kings to check out the rock-cut tombs of powerful pharaohs from the New Kingdom. Later, the cruise continues via Esna toward Edfu.

Edfu to Kom Ombo to Aswan
You'll visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu in the morning. From there, continue cruising to Kom Ombo where you explore the unique double sanctuary dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. The ship then sails onward to Aswan by evening.

Aswan
There's an optional full-day excursion to Abu Simbel if you're interested, which means driving about 3 hours south to see the two massive rock temples of Ramesses II and the smaller Hathor Temple dedicated to Nefertari, then returning to Aswan. If that's not for you, you can relax and explore the unique landscape around Aswan instead.

Aswan
You'll visit the impressive Aswan Dam, one of the world's largest structures. See the unfinished obelisk and learn about ancient Egyptian construction techniques. Later, sail on a traditional felucca to the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener Island, then take a motorboat to Agilkia Island to explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. The day ends with time relaxing by the Nile.

Kom Ombo and Edfu
Your cruise heads back north from Aswan, passing through Kom Ombo on the way to Edfu. You'll have free time onboard your cruise ship, or you can explore the towns at your own pace if you prefer.

Edfu to Luxor
The ship cruises from Edfu back to Luxor. You'll explore the impressive Luxor Temple and the vast temple complex of Karnak, which are connected by the Avenue of the Sphinxes. This archaeological zone is one of the largest in the world. Spend your final night aboard the cruise ship.

Luxor to Soma Bay via Dendera
You'll disembark from your cruise ship and travel via Dendera to return to Soma Bay on the Red Sea. Along the way, stop in Dendera to explore the impressive temple complex of the goddess Hathor, known for its unique reliefs including depictions of Cleopatra and Caesarion, zodiac signs, and some mysterious 'light bulbs.'

Soma Bay
Enjoy a relaxing day swimming and sunbathing at the Red Sea in Soma Bay. If you'd like, there's an optional day trip to Cairo by flight from Hurghada to visit the Pyramids of Giza, the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum, and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, with return flights the same day.
