Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Phaplu

    After breakfast, you'll drive to Phaplu in eastern Nepal where your trek starts. This small settlement has tea houses and an airstrip. Following a brief rest, you'll trek towards Takshindo and take in the surrounding landscapes. Once you arrive, settle into your tea house and explore the area, including a stop at the local cheese factory to try some Himalayan dairy products.

  2. Day 2

    Takshindo to Khari Khola

    Check out Takshindo Monastery and watch monks chanting sacred texts and conducting rituals. Then you'll trek down steeply, walking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. The trail passes through lush woodlands, terrace farmlands, and Sherpa settlements before reaching Khari Khola.

  3. Day 3

    Khari Khola to Puiyan

    Trek to Puiyan through small villages in lush sub-tropical woodlands. The trail has steep sections and narrow canyons with views of snowcapped mountains, agricultural terraces, and traditional stone houses decorated with colorful Buddhist prayer flags. The final section is a steep uphill push to reach Puiyan.

  4. Day 4

    Puiyan to Phakding

    Mostly downhill trekking today. You'll start on a ridge towards Surke, then move through flatter landscape and deep sub-tropical woodlands. Watch for mule caravans and avoid cliff sides as the trail cuts deep into the rocky valley. After that, head down to the Dudh Koshi river valley and reach Phakding.

  5. Day 5

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Start early and trek through dense Rhododendron and Pine forests, then walk alongside terraced fields. You'll cross the Dudh Koshi River twice before entering Sagarmatha National Park. At the park gate, your permits get checked, then you'll head uphill to Namche Bazaar with grand Himalayan views including Mt. Everest. Rest at your accommodation and explore the region.

  6. Day 6

    Namche Bazaar

    This is your first acclimatization day. Head out before dawn to watch the sunrise and take in the views. After breakfast, visit the Everest View Hotel passing a large chorten and mani walls. The hotel offers 360-degree views of the Himalayas with evergreen firs, rhododendron forests, and mountain vistas. You'll return to Namche Bazaar by evening.

  7. Day 7

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Trek across a ridge with Rhododendron patches, taking in views of woodlands and peaks like AmaDablam and Mt. Everest. Cross the Dudh Koshi river and pass mani walls and chortens marking the start of Tengboche. Settle into this grassy plain village surrounded by scrub pines and rhododendrons. Leave your heavy pack and walk through Tengboche Monastery.

  8. Day 8

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    Trek through woodlands of pines and rhododendrons, climbing uphill to Imja Khola. You'll reach Pangboche, a Sherpa settlement at 3,901 meters, and visit its ancient monastery where climbers receive blessings. Follow Imja Khola rapids to where it meets Khumbu Khola, then climb a ridge beyond the tree line to reach Dingboche.

    Dingboche

    Your second acclimatization day. You'll explore attractions around the region including monasteries and learn about local culture and lifestyle. After lunch, you might head towards Chhukkung valley or take a stroll around Dingboche. Make sure to catch the views during dawn and dusk.

  10. Day 10

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    Trek across high alpine grounds and arid landscapes with views of peaks like Cholatse, Lobuche, and Pumori. Pass ridge sections decorated with prayer flags honoring mountaineers who died climbing Mt. Everest. Head towards Khumbu Glacier, Nepal's longest glacier. Cross stony paths and streams to reach Lobuche, which sits elevated and exposed on the upper valley slopes.

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp

    Trek along the rocky moraine of Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep, being careful on sheer cliffs and rocky terrain. After lunch, leave your heavy pack and head to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. Cross glaciers, icefalls, frozen pools, icy walls and boulders to reach the base camp. Take in views of the Mahalangur mountain range before heading back to Gorakshep.

  12. Day 12

    Gorakshep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche

    After breakfast, hike to Kala Patthar, the highest point of your trek and considered the best vantage point of the Khumbu region. The climb is non-technical but altitude can be challenging. Cross a sandy dried-lake bed and steep zigzag sections. From the summit you'll see panoramic views of Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, Lhotse, Khumbu Glacier and the Mahalangur Range. Descend through Gorakshep and continue down to Pheriche.

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Trek back along the Dudh Koshi River banks to Lukla. The trail is mostly downhill, passing through woodlands of rhododendron, pine forests, and undergrowth. You'll arrive at Lukla and head to your tea house. Celebrate your final night in the mountains with your team.

    Lukla to Kathmandu

    Wake early to enjoy mountain views, then have breakfast before heading to the airport. Fly back to Kathmandu. After landing, transfer to your accommodation. Spend the day exploring the city and shopping for souvenirs. Join a farewell dinner program in the evening to celebrate the success of your trek.
