Itinerary
- Day 1
Birkat Al Mauz - Jabal Akhdar
Your vehicle arrives around 9 am, and from there you'll drive to Nizwa to check out the 17th-century Round Tower Fort and walk through the souk where locals trade silver and curved daggers. After that, head to the village of Birkat Al Mauz for a walk among date plantations fed by the traditional Falaj irrigation system. The road gets winding as you climb toward Jabal Akhdar at 2,000 meters elevation, where you can settle in at your hotel or explore the terraced villages scattered around Saiq, Wadi Bani Habib, and Al Ain. You'll cover approximately 350 km today.

Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands
This morning you'll drive back down the serpentine road to the valley, then continue through Ibra toward Wadi Bani Khalid, which locals consider Oman's most beautiful wadi. Walk along the watercourse and swim in the natural pools before heading inland into Wahiba Sands, where traditional Bedouin tribes still live. This desert stretches 180 km from north to south and roughly 80 km across, and you'll spend the night here surrounded by the dunes. The full drive covers approximately 425 km.

Sur - Muscat
After crossing the impressive dunes of Wahiba Sands, you'll reach Sur, a white seafaring town where workers still build traditional wooden dhows in a small shipyard. Watch them work before continuing along the coast with a stop at Fins Beach for swimming if you want. Bimah Sinkhole comes next, a limestone crater where you can swim, then you'll pass through Wadi Arbaeen with its natural pools sheltered under date palms before arriving in Muscat. The tour ends at the airport or your separately arranged extension hotel, covering approximately 450 km.
