- Day 1
Muscat
Start your day at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, where you can take in the serene atmosphere and intricate architecture. From there, head to the Royal Opera House to appreciate its elegant design. You'll then walk through the Muttrah Souk, where the mix of spice aromas and local vendors creates a lively market experience. Bait Al Zubair Museum comes next, giving you insight into Oman's heritage and history. By late afternoon, make your way to Al Alam Palace, which sits right along the coast with views of the historic Jalali and Mirani forts across the water, making for good photo opportunities.

Bimmah Sinkhole & Wadi Shab
Begin with a coastal drive heading south toward Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural limestone crater filled with turquoise water where you can take a swim if you'd like. After that, continue to Wadi Shab. You'll take a short boat ride upriver, then hike for roughly 45 minutes through palm groves and rocky terrain. The trail leads you to natural pools where you can cool off, and there's a small hidden cave with a waterfall tucked into the canyon wall that makes the hike worthwhile.

You'll visit either Jebel Akhdar, which features terraced farms and wide-ranging views, or Jebel Shams, Oman's highest peak with dramatic cliff formations depending on conditions and preferences.

You'll visit a traditional Bedouin-style house to see how people live in this environment, take photos of the dunes, and simply sit and absorb the quiet desert atmosphere before heading back toward the coast by evening.
