- Day 1
St. Moritz
You'll arrive in the Engadin valley and settle into St. Moritz, a sophisticated mountain town that's been a resort destination for over a century. After checking in, the afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Take a walk along the lake shores if you're in the mood, or simply wander the town's upscale streets and get your bearings. The setting here is quite nice, with mountains surrounding the area and the lake providing a calm backdrop.

- Day 2
St. Moritz to Zermatt
Board the Glacier Express early in the morning for an eight-hour train journey through the Swiss Alps. This isn't a fast train, which is actually the point, and you'll move slowly enough to really take in the landscape as you pass through rustic mountain forests, alpine meadows, and traditional valleys. The route crosses 291 bridges and 196 tunnels, and reaches its peak elevation of 2,033 m at Oberalp Pass. Panoramic carriages have headphones providing route commentary along the way. By evening you'll arrive in Zermatt, a car-free village situated at the base of the Matterhorn.

- Day 3
Zermatt to St. Moritz
Spend the morning walking through Zermatt's mountain village streets, taking in the scenery and the views of the Matterhorn. After that, you'll board the train back to St. Moritz, and then continue by car from there to your next destination. This gives you time to see the village without rushing, and the train ride back through the Alps offers another chance to see the landscape from a different angle.
