Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Salta
Your transfer picks you up at Salta Airport by 2:00 pm and takes you to the hotel. After you settle in, a 3-hour guided tour walks you through Salta's colonial center, stopping at the Cathedral, the historic Cabildo, San Francisco Church, and Convento de San Bernardo. Later in the afternoon, head up to Cerro San Bernardo where you get panoramic views of the valley and surrounding area as the day winds down.

Valle de Lerma and Cafayate
After breakfast, your hotel picks you up for a drive through Valle de Lerma with its tobacco fields and colonial towns scattered throughout. The route takes you toward Cafayate in the Valles Calchaqu\u00edes wine region. Once there, you'll spend time tasting Torront\u00e9s wine at different wineries and getting a feel for the local wine culture. By evening, you head back to Salta and return to your hotel.

Artisanal Wineries and Quebrada de las Conchas
Start the day visiting award-winning artisanal wineries throughout the Calchaqu\u00ed Valleys. Around lunch, you eat before heading back toward Salta. The return route takes you through Quebrada de las Conchas, where the landscape really stands out with rock formations including the Sand Dunes, the Toad, the Bishop, the Devil's Throat, and the Amphitheater. You'll also pass colonial villages like Alemania on the way.

Purmamarca and Salinas Grandes
An early departure takes you from Salta through Lerma Valley with its sweeping panoramic views. Next, you reach Purmamarca and see the distinctive Cerro de los Siete Colores, the historic church, and check out the artisan market. Then comes the climb up Cuesta de Lip\u00e1n to Salinas Grandes, where vast white salt flats spread across the Puna region. There you can watch the table salt extraction process. Overnight stays in Purmamarca, so you settle in for the evening.

This route takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage Quebrada de Humahuaca. Along the way, you pass the historic Posta de Hornillos and arrive in Huacalera to cross the Tropic of Capricorn marker. The Church of Uqu\u00eda comes next, where you see the Arcabucero Angels paintings on display. Later you reach Humahuaca and look at the Cathedral and Monument to Independence. After stopping for lunch, you see the Palette of the Painter in Maimar\u00e1 before returning to Salta by evening.
