You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your Nature Safari representative meets you for the drive to Sasalinero Hotel. 2. Day 2

    Moshi to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Meet your guide and support crew at the hotel for a prep session, then drive 3-4 hours to Londorossi Gate on Kilimanjaro's western side. You'll handle permits and search and rescue registration, then start trekking through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. Your crew has lunch waiting. After eating, head out on a short acclimatization hike toward Shira 1 Camp (300 meters up), come back down, and have hot dinner at camp.

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Breakfast comes early, then you trek 5-6 hours to Shira 1 Camp at 3,610 meters/11,850 feet. The path stays relatively mild, giving your body time to adjust. You'll catch your first real views of Shira Plateau and Kibo Volcano. Once at camp, lunch is ready and the rest of the day is yours to sleep or walk around the nearby terrain.

Your guides offer an optional push to Cathedral Peak at 3,872 meters/12,700 feet if conditions are clear, though it's not required. Lunch happens at camp, then a two-hour rest period before heading up toward Lava Tower Camp (another 300 meters gain).

Then you descend to Barranco Camp at 3,900 meters/12,800 feet where the famous Barranco Wall waits, though climbing it tomorrow uses an easy trail.
