Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival at Kilimanjaro
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your Nature Safari representative meets you for the drive to Sasalinero Hotel. After checking in, there's time to relax by the pool or catch up on email. Later in the evening, managers run a briefing to go over what's ahead on the climb and answer any questions you might have.

- Day 2
Moshi to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Meet your guide and support crew at the hotel for a prep session, then drive 3-4 hours to Londorossi Gate on Kilimanjaro's western side. You'll handle permits and search and rescue registration, then start trekking through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. Your crew has lunch waiting. After eating, head out on a short acclimatization hike toward Shira 1 Camp (300 meters up), come back down, and have hot dinner at camp.

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Breakfast comes early, then you trek 5-6 hours to Shira 1 Camp at 3,610 meters/11,850 feet. The path stays relatively mild, giving your body time to adjust. You'll catch your first real views of Shira Plateau and Kibo Volcano. Once at camp, lunch is ready and the rest of the day is yours to sleep or walk around the nearby terrain.

Landmarks Shira Plateau Kibo Volcano - Day 4
Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Trek from Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp at 3,850 meters/12,630 feet. The route isn't strenuous and opens up views of the savannah and Kilimanjaro's plant life. Your guides offer an optional push to Cathedral Peak at 3,872 meters/12,700 feet if conditions are clear, though it's not required. Lunch happens at camp, then a two-hour rest period before heading up toward Lava Tower Camp (another 300 meters gain).

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, leave Shira 2 and trek toward Lava Tower at 4,600 meters/15,100 feet. This section has lots of ups and downs and feels harder, but spending 1-2 hours here helps with acclimatization. Lunch is at Lava Tower. Then you descend to Barranco Camp at 3,900 meters/12,800 feet where the famous Barranco Wall waits, though climbing it tomorrow uses an easy trail.

- Day 6
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Early breakfast, then tackle the Barranco Wall in about an hour using a straightforward hiking path. After reaching the top, rest and take photos with Kibo behind you. Next comes a tougher hike to Karanga Camp with many ascents and descents at whatever pace works for your group. Warm lunch at camp, followed by an acclimatization hike toward Barafu Camp (200 meters up) before heading back down to sleep.

- Day 7
Karanga Camp to Barafu Summit Camp
Warm breakfast, then hike to Barafu Summit Camp, your launch point for the final push. Your team set everything up ahead so tents and sleeping bags are ready when you arrive. Spend the rest of the day resting and sleeping to prepare for tonight's summit attempt.

- Day 8
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
Depart Barafu Camp at night heading for Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters/19,340 feet, Kilimanjaro's highest point. It's not technically difficult but the altitude makes even simple movement feel exhausting. Each pair of climbers gets a personal guide for support and monitoring. You reach the summit, can optionally visit the glacier, rest 2 hours at Barafu, then descend to Millennium Camp at 3,950 meters/13,050 feet.

Landmarks Uhuru Peak - Day 9
Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
Wake at Millennium Camp in the rainforest, and the altitude drop brings both relief and accomplishment. Warm breakfast, then descend to Mweka Gate at 1,640 meters/5,380 feet for the park exit. Everyone gathers to celebrate, signs the guestbook, and gets commemorative certificates. After that, transfer back to Sasalinero Hotel for your last night.

Departure from Moshi
Relax at the hotel and arrange your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
