Itinerary
- Day 1
Christchurch to Tekapo
You'll get picked up in Christchurch at 09:00 and head to Lake Tekapo, where the water's that brilliant turquoise color you see in photos. Once there, you can walk the local bike trails around the lake and then slip into the lakeside hot springs. The real highlight comes after dark when you can stargaze in the world's largest Dark Sky Reserve, so the lack of light pollution means you'll actually see what's up there.

- Day 2
Tekapo to Queenstown
After breakfast, you'll have the morning in Tekapo to do some hiking or just explore around the lake at your own pace. By midday you're heading to Queenstown, which is where things get adrenaline-focused. Once you settle in, you can walk around town and start booking your adventure activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, canyoning, or zip-lining depending on what sounds appealing to you.

- Day 3
Milford Sound - Queenstown
After eating breakfast, you'll travel from Queenstown to Milford Sound, a UNESCO site that's basically one of the wildest places in the Southern Hemisphere. The drive itself is part of the experience with mountains and valleys on display. When you arrive, you can either book a cruise to see waterfalls, glacial valleys, and dolphins up close, or stay in town and grab a beer with a famous Fergburger before heading back to Queenstown for the night.

Queenstown
This entire day is set aside for whatever adventure activities you want to do in Queenstown. Your options include bungee jumping, canyon swings, horseback riding, skydiving, bike riding, luging, or jet boat rides up the canyon. You'll pick based on how much adrenaline you're after and what actually interests you.

- Day 5
Wanaka - Franz Josef
After breakfast, you'll leave Queenstown and drive toward Franz Josef with a stop in Wanaka along the way. The drive takes you through rugged coastline and ancient rainforests, past glaciers and waterfalls as you cross Haast Pass. By the time you reach Franz Josef, you'll have seen some serious landscape variety.

- Day 6
Franz Josef
You're spending this day looking at the ice formations at Franz Josef that have been shaped over thousands of years. You can hike through the glacier area, take an optional scenic helicopter tour, or do both if you're up for it. If you'd rather stay lower, you've got quad biking, kayaking, or the glacier hot pools as alternatives before grabbing a drink at the end of the day.

Landmarks Franz Josef Glacier - Day 7
Franz Josef to Christchurch
After breakfast, you'll leave Franz Josef and head back to Christchurch with a quick stop in Hokitika. From there, the drive takes you through Arthur's Pass with views of the snow-capped Southern Alps the whole way. You'll get dropped off in Christchurch between 15:00 and 16:00, so you'll have the late afternoon to settle back in.
