You'll board your river cruise ship in Amsterdam at 6:00 p.m. and get settled into your cabin. After you're unpacked and comfortable, there's a welcome cocktail with the crew to start things off and meet your fellow travelers.

Amsterdam to Nijmegen
Pick either a guided walking tour or a bike tour to get around Amsterdam and see the city. In the afternoon, head to Keukenhof Gardens if they're open, or check out Volendam and Zaanse Schans instead. Your ship sets off for Nijmegen during the night.

There's an optional excursion to the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem where you can walk through traditional Dutch buildings and see cultural heritage sites at your own pace. You can skip it if you prefer to relax on the ship.

Nijmegen to Cologne
This morning you'll cruise through the scenic Romantic Rhine section between Rüdesheim and Koblenz. Once you arrive in Cologne, there's an optional guided walking tour of the historic city if you want to explore it.

Cologne to Rüdesheim
You'll cruise to Rüdesheim this morning and then choose between a scenic train ride that includes wine tasting and a visit to the Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments, or go hiking through the vineyards if that sounds better to you.
