Itinerary
- Day 1
Provence to Lyon
Start in Arles and walk through the Roman and medieval sites that fill this UNESCO World Heritage city. From there, head to the medieval village of Les Baux where you'll find an underground art show carved into the hillside. Later, travel to Avignon and spend time near the Palais des Papes, strolling the historic streets. In the evening, continue to Lyon and settle into the old town area, then ride the cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière basilica for views across the city.

Lyon to Dijon

Then head to Colmar and walk through the colorful half-timbered houses along the canals, grabbing lunch during your time there. Next, drive to Riquewihr, a medieval town with cobblestone streets perfect for wandering. Visit a winery for local wine tasting and try some regional sweets. You'll arrive in Strasbourg as evening falls.
