Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Marrakech

    You'll arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport and get transferred to your hotel. Depending on when you land, there's flexibility to either walk around the lively medina streets, check out the Jemaa el-Fnaa square where you'll find performers and food stalls, or just settle in at your accommodation and rest from travel.

  2. Day 2

    Marrakech to Dades Valley

    After breakfast, you'll drive through the Atlas Mountains crossing Tizi N Tichka Pass and stop at Berber villages along the way. The day takes you to the 17th-century Telouet kasbah, then the UNESCO-listed Ait ben Haddou kasbah and Taourirt kasbah near Ouarzazate. You'll continue to Skoura to see the 18th-century Kasbah of Ameridhil, pass through Kalaat Mgouna's rose valley, and explore Dades Valley with Berber settlements. Before the day ends, you'll see the rock formation locals call 'the monkey toes' and catch the sunset over the Dades gorges.

  3. Day 3

    Dades Valley to Merzouga

    After breakfast, head to Todgha Gorges where you'll have time to walk under the 300-meter cliffs and take in views of Berber villages from above. You'll pass through Tinjdad (lunch stop), Erfoud, and Er-Rissani on the way to Merzouga, traveling through Sahara oasis landscapes. In the afternoon, mint tea refreshes you before the camel ride into the desert dunes to your camp, or if you prefer, travel by car instead to reach the camp by evening.

    Merzouga to Fes

    After breakfast, you'll leave via Rissani to visit the local souk market, then travel through the Ziz Valley with its millions of palm trees toward Errachidia. The route crosses the Ziz Gorges and Middle Atlas Mountains with great scenery before lunch in Midelt. Later you'll pass through Azrou's cedar forest where Barbary monkeys live, check out Ifrane with its European-style architecture, and reach Fes by afternoon to check into your riad.

    Fes

    Starting after breakfast at your riad, you'll walk through the oldest city in Morocco, navigating the winding alleys and small streets. You'll see the Royal Palace gate, explore the Jewish Quarter (Morocco's first Mellah from the 14th century), visit Al Qaraouine University (the oldest university in the world), check out the Tanneries, and visit Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you'll stop at the tiles cooperative and head up for a panoramic view over the entire Fes medina before returning to your riad for the night.

  6. Day 6

    Fes to Chefchaouen

    Leaving early after breakfast, you'll head to Meknes and see the medina from above. You'll tour the walls and their monumental gates from the 17th century (Berdaine Bab, Bab Khemis), explore the stables, attics, and stud facilities. The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail comes next, and then you'll exit through Bab Mansour El onto the Hedim square. You'll also check out the 2000-year-old Roman ruins of Volubilis before driving to the blue city for the night in Chefchaouen.

    Chefchaouen to Tanger

    After breakfast, you have free time until 12:30 PM to walk around the blue city at your own pace. Later you'll pass by Tetouan with its hillside houses and the green Rif mountains, then head to Tanger for the night.

  8. Day 8

    Tanger to Casablanca

    After breakfast, the day focuses on Tanger with both 4x4 and walking tours. You'll visit Cap Spartel, the Sultan's Palace, the Necropolis, and the Caves of Hercules, plus have time to visit Asilah and shop for souvenirs. You'll then drive to Rabat to see the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan 2 Tower with its four distinct facades, the old mosque remains, and the Mohamed 5 Mausoleum. By late afternoon, you'll reach Casablanca for dinner and overnight.

    Casablanca to Marrakech

    In the morning, you'll visit the Hassan 2 Mosque, Morocco's largest mosque. After about 3 hours driving, you'll reach Marrakech and have free time to explore the authentic red city. You can see the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower, Saadian Tombs, and Bahia Palace. Later you'll either transfer to the airport if you have a flight or go to your hotel in Marrakech to finish your trip.
