Abu Simbel Temple Tour from Aswan
After your hotel pickup in Aswan, you'll travel by air-conditioned car to Abu Simbel, about three hours south. Once there, you'll walk through the twin temples carved directly into the mountainside over 3,000 years ago. The larger temple honors Ramesses II and features four colossal statues at its entrance, while the smaller one is dedicated to his wife Nefertari. Inside, you'll learn how the ancient builders aligned these temples so sunlight penetrates the inner sanctum twice each year during specific dates. Your guide will explain the four gods represented here and why this site earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Before heading back to your hotel, you'll have time to explore the Temple of Nefertari with its detailed carvings and inscriptions.
