- Day 1
Chennai
You'll arrive at Chennai International Airport where an MTA representative will meet you. After that, head out for a panoramic tour of Marina Beach, which stretches along the coast and offers great views. Stop by the historic St. Thomas Church and then check out the Kapaleeshwar Temple before settling into your hotel for the night.

- Day 2
Pondicherry
Travel south to Mahabalipuram to see the UNESCO World Heritage temples from the Pallava dynasty. You'll walk through the Shore Temple overlooking the Bay of Bengal, then explore the Five Rathas rock-cut temples carved right out of the rock. See the Arjuna's Penance bas-relief before heading to Pondicherry. Once there, wander through the French colonial streets and visit the Aurobindo Ashram, which has a quiet, meditative atmosphere.

- Day 3
Tanjore
Head to Tanjore with stops at Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram. In Darasuram, you'll see the Airavateswara Temple, a UNESCO site and a real example of Chola architecture. Get to Tanjore, the ancient Chola capital, and check out the Brihadeshwara Temple. Later, spend time at the Raja Museum and Art Gallery looking at Chola artifacts and the Saraswati Mahal Library, which has rare manuscripts on display.

Chettinad
Drive toward Chettinad through Trichy and first visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, one of the largest temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Continue on to Chettinad to explore the mansions there that mix Indian and European building styles. Walk around the village, pop into a cotton weaving center, and learn about local tile manufacturing.

Madurai

Cochin
This morning is free for more Ayurvedic treatments or just relaxing if you prefer. Later, board a houseboat to cruise through Kerala's backwaters with lunch served onboard while you take in the scenery. You'll arrive in Cochin by evening, a city known for its history and cultural mix.
