- Day 1
Perth to Kalbarri
Hotel pickup gets things started as you head north from Perth along the coast. The Pinnacles in Nambung National Park come into view first, thousands of limestone pillars standing up from yellow sand that really catch your eye. From there, the scenic route takes you through Jurien Bay and Leeman, then inland through Kalbarri National Park via Port Gregory where you'll see grazing land mixed with rugged coastline. You'll arrive in Kalbarri village by late afternoon.

Kalbarri to Monkey Mia
After breakfast, you'll drive through Kalbarri National Park with views of Murchison Gorge cutting through the landscape. Depending on when you're traveling, wildflowers might be blooming along the route. The drive continues to Shark Bay's World Heritage area, and you'll reach Monkey Mia in the afternoon. Dolphins often come right up to shore here, so you'll have time to relax and swim. Later in the day, an evening catamaran cruise lets you experience sailing and see the coast from the water.

Monkey Mia to Carnarvon
This morning you can watch dolphins coming to shore at Monkey Mia. Then head to the Shark Bay Interpretive Centre in Denham to learn about the World Heritage area. A stop at Hamelin Pool shows you stromatolites, those layered rock formations that represent some of the oldest known life forms. The drive to Carnarvon afterward takes you through typical Outback Australian scenery, really giving you a feel for the red earth and open space.

- Day 4
Carnarvon to Coral Bay to Exmouth
After breakfast, you'll drive to Coral Bay to check out the Ningaloo Reef stretching 260 kilometers along the coast. This reef system has more marine life than you'll find on the Great Barrier Reef. A glass-bottom boat tour gets you out to snorkel in the shallow waters where you can see corals, sea stars, crustaceans, and hundreds of fish species moving around. By afternoon, you'll continue on to Exmouth.

- Day 5
Exmouth Whale Shark Swimming Tour
The day starts at the jetty where you'll meet the crew for a full-day whale shark swimming adventure. After safety briefing, you'll get fitted with a wetsuit and snorkel gear. An introductory snorkel on the inner Ningaloo Reef comes first to get comfortable in the water. Then a spotter plane searches for whale sharks, and once located, you'll swim and snorkel alongside them. Lunch happens on the boat, and weather permitting, you'll return to the inner reef afterward where manta rays and humpback whales sometimes appear.
