Prague
Your first day in Prague gives you the freedom to wander around the Golden City at your own pace. The city and its surrounding countryside are yours to explore, so you can hit the highlights or take things slowly depending on what interests you.

Prague
This morning you'll join a guided walk through Prague's Gothic architecture, starting at Hradcany Castle Grounds and then heading to St. Vitus Cathedral. From there, you'll make your way to Old Town to see the Astronomical Clock and catch street performers in Wenceslas Square. After crossing the historic Charles Bridge, you'll grab lunch with some traditional Czech plum dumplings and a Pilsner lager to wash it down.

Prague to Vilshofen
After breakfast, you'll drive to Regensburg for a guided walk that covers the Altes Rathaus and the ancient Porta Pretoria fortress entrance. Lunch and a local beer come next, then you have time to wander the historic lanes and squares on your own. Later in the day you'll travel to Vilshofen to board your Avalon Suite Ship, where there's a welcome reception and an evening cruise to settle in.

Passau
In Passau, you'll choose your own adventure: either hike from Oberhaus down to the valley along the Ilz River or join a guided city walk focused on this 'City of Three Rivers'. You can explore cobblestone streets and Artists' Alley, and if interested, catch a concert rehearsal at St. Stephen's Cathedral. This afternoon the ship sails through the dramatic Schlingen Oxbow, and you'll have live entertainment onboard in the evening.

Linz
Stop by the Adventure Center in the morning to pick your activity for the day. You can bike along the Danube or take a guided walk through Linz's historic sites like Hauptplatz (Austria's largest medieval square) and the Trinity Column. For a bigger commitment, there's the option of a full-day trip to Salzburg or Cesky Krumlov, or you could do a biking picnic along the Danube or hike through nature trails to Postlingberg.

Durnstein
In Ybbs you have choices: visit family-owned farms to sample traditional specialties, tour Artstetten Castle, or join a guided tour of Melk's Benedictine Abbey with its frescoed ceilings and ornate pipe organ. The ship then sails through Wachau Valley, passing vineyards and castles. Later in Durnstein, you can either hike up to castle ruins for valley views or take a guided walk to hear the story of King Richard the Lionheart's imprisonment during the Crusades.

Schonbrunn Palace is optional if you're interested. You'll stroll Karntnerstrasse for shopping, relax in local cafes with Sachertorte or Apfelstrudel, and can catch a Royal Waltz Concert in the evening if you'd like.

Ilok - Novi Sad
Head to the Adventure Center in Vukovar to pick your morning activity. Either join a guided walking tour discovering the heritage and culture with beer tasting, or take a guided city tour learning about its history and tradition. Later there's a brief cruise to Novi Sad with lunch onboard. Once in Ilok, Croatia, you can either explore 1,000-year-old wine-making traditions with a guided tour and wine tasting, or bike along the city walls to Principovac Castle.

You'll visit the Fortress of Golubac, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval fortresses, and learn about its history as a border control defense and source of conflict between Serbia, the Habsburg Monarchy, and the Ottoman Empire. Next is the Mesolithic archaeological site of Lepenski Vir for unique Danube Gorge views. The ship then sails through the spectacular Iron Gates Gorge, which forms the natural border between Serbia and Romania.
