Itinerary
- Day 1
New York City
You'll arrive in New York City and settle into your hotel. Your tour director is on hand from 3 to 6pm if you have questions, so feel free to track them down after you've checked in. After that, the city is yours to explore on your own. There's incredible shopping throughout Manhattan, and you'll find restaurants serving food from nearly every country you can think of, so grab dinner wherever appeals to you.

New York City
This morning starts with a guided tour hitting the big sights: the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, and Times Square. You'll see why these spots define the city for most visitors. By early afternoon you'll have free time to choose your own path. Head to one of the world-class museums, wander through Chinatown, walk around Central Park, or catch a Broadway show if you can score tickets. It really depends on what calls to you.

New York City to Middletown
Head north through Connecticut and stop in Mystic, a historic seaport village worth walking around for an hour or so. Then you'll cross into Rhode Island and drive to Middletown for the night. It's not a long driving day, so you'll have time to settle in and maybe explore a bit before dinner.

Newport
Travel to Newport, which earned its name as the sailing capital by hosting major yacht races and boat culture. Drive the scenic Ten Mile Drive along the coast with ocean views the whole way, and you'll pass by the grand Gilded Age mansions that line the shore. Spend the afternoon and evening however you like: walk around the harbor, check out the Old Quarter with its colonial architecture, or take the optional tour of The Breakers mansion if that interests you.

New Bedford - Plymouth
Drive north into Massachusetts to visit New Bedford and its Whaling National Historical Park. You'll learn how this port dominated the whaling industry back in the 1800s and what that meant for the region's economy and culture. From there, continue to Plymouth to see Plymouth Rock, where the Mayflower Pilgrims first landed in 1620. It's a significant historical spot and worth spending time walking around the waterfront.

Provincetown, Cape Cod
Head out to Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod, a colorful seaside town with a quirky personality. Walk Commercial Street and browse the shops and art galleries that line it, then find a restaurant with ocean views and try some local seafood. In the afternoon you can choose between two options: take an optional whale watching cruise to see humpback whales and dolphins, or join an optional tour through the Sand Dunes in the National Seashore Park if you'd rather stay on land.

Boston
Take a guided tour of Boston, New England's largest city and the birthplace of several American firsts including the first public school and first public park. You'll visit the Old State House, walk the Freedom Trail, and see the Old North Church. Stop at Faneuil Hall and grab lunch at Quincy Market where you can try Boston specialties like clam chowder. The rest of your day is free, and if you're interested in Italian food, head to the North End Little Italy neighborhood in the evening.

Portland, Maine
Drive north to Maine, stopping to photograph the iconic Nubble Lighthouse along the way. Continue to Portland, a historic maritime city where working fishing wharves meet converted warehouse shops and restaurants. Walk the cobblestone streets, browse what's available, and try an official Maine Lobster Roll if you're in the mood for seafood. You'll overnight in nearby Ogunquit.

Boston
Depart early this morning headed back to Boston. If you have a flight leaving from Boston Logan International Airport, you'll stop there first to get to your gate. Guests staying extra nights will head to the Boston hotel instead. Either way, your tour wraps up here.
