Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    New York City

You'll arrive in New York City and settle into your hotel. Your tour director is on hand from 3 to 6pm if you have questions, so feel free to track them down after you've checked in. After that, the city is yours to explore on your own. There's incredible shopping throughout Manhattan, and you'll find restaurants serving food from nearly every country you can think of, so grab dinner wherever appeals to you.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore New York City shopping
    • Dine at world-class restaurants
  2. Day 2

    New York City

This morning starts with a guided tour hitting the big sights: the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, and Times Square. You'll see why these spots define the city for most visitors. By early afternoon you'll have free time to choose your own path. Head to one of the world-class museums, wander through Chinatown, walk around Central Park, or catch a Broadway show if you can score tickets. It really depends on what calls to you.

Drive the scenic Ten Mile Drive along the coast with ocean views the whole way, and you'll pass by the grand Gilded Age mansions that line the shore. You'll learn how this port dominated the whaling industry back in the 1800s and what that meant for the region's economy and culture. From there, continue to Plymouth to see Plymouth Rock, where the Mayflower Pilgrims first landed in 1620. It's a significant historical spot and worth spending time walking around the waterfront.

Walk Commercial Street and browse the shops and art galleries that line it, then find a restaurant with ocean views and try some local seafood. In the afternoon you can choose between two options: take an optional whale watching cruise to see humpback whales and dolphins, or join an optional tour through the Sand Dunes in the National Seashore Park if you'd rather stay on land.

Customer Reviews

    · August 5th, 2025
This tour was amazing and exceeded expectations! Our Cosmos guide, Kip, was awesome, as were our guides for all included and optional tours (Alaska railroad, Doggoneit Kennel Visit, Denali wilderness tour, Prince William sound boat ride, etc). All of the cities visited were awesome and all of the stops in between were so well planned with great scenery/views and opportunity to stretch and explore. Although the lack of a detailed itinerary (with times, durations, etc) prior to the trip bothered my OCD planner self, I could not have imagined a more perfect tour of interior Alaska! Our family of 4 loved every minute of this Alaskan Adventure!
