Itinerary
- Day 1
Antananarivo
You'll land at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo where your English-speaking driver will be waiting for you. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel for check-in. Settle in for the evening and get some rest after your journey.
- Day 2
Antananarivo to Sainte Marie
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to the airport for a 1-hour flight to Sainte Marie. This island sits off Madagascar's east coast and feels like stepping into another world. Once you land, transfer to your hotel and check in to get settled.

Sainte Marie
Your driver guide takes you down to the harbor where you'll board a whale watching boat with the crew. The Sainte Marie Channel is one of the best places on earth to see humpback whales, and you'll spend the morning watching them breach and glide right alongside the boat. Back to the hotel by afternoon.

Sainte Marie
This day is yours to explore Sainte Marie at your own pace. You can hike the trail to Pointe à Lonjo through lush rainforest or head over to the islet Île aux Nattes. The trails here offer nice views and plenty of time to wander around on your schedule.

Sainte Marie to Andasibe
Head to the airport for your flight back to Antananarivo. Once you land, your driver takes you on a 4-hour drive to Andasibe, traveling through developing infrastructure with some unpaved road sections. Check in at your nature lodge later in the day after arrival.

Andasibe
A guided walk through Analamazaotra National Park starts your day, where you'll look for different lemur species like Indri Indri, Diademed Sifakas, common brown lemurs, and black-and-white ruffed lemurs. After lunch, visit Vakona Reserve to see tamed lemurs up close. Later, walk through Andasibe Village and check out the local market to get a feel for Malagasy life.

Andasibe to Antananarivo
After breakfast, you'll venture into Voimma Forest to continue spotting lemurs and other wildlife. Then you start heading back to Antananarivo with a stop at Reserve Peyreiras Exotic, a private farm where you can get close-up photos of chameleons, butterflies, and snakes. Your guide can help you hold a chameleon and watch it change colors. Arrive in Antananarivo by evening and check into your hotel.

Antananarivo
In the morning, visit the sacred King's Palace on Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, a UNESCO site that was home to the great king Andrianampoinimerina from 1787 to 1810. You'll gain real insight into local history and culture while you're there. Afterward, transfer to Ivato Airport, timed with your flight for a smooth departure.
