Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakesh to Ouarzazate
Your day starts early with a pickup from your accommodation, then you'll drive through the High Atlas Mountains crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass. The route takes you to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO village where you can walk around and see the traditional mudbrick buildings up close, and grab lunch there. From there, it's on to Ouarzazate where you have time to check out either the Taourirt Kasbah or the movie studios in the area. You'll wrap up the evening by heading to Boumalne Dades for the night (approximately 180 characters).

Boumalne Dades to Merzouga
After leaving your Kasbah, you'll travel through smaller towns heading toward the Sahara. You stop in Tinghir to hike through the Todra Gorges, which cuts through impressive rock formations. The landscape gets drier as you drive on, and you'll pass through Erfoud where there's a fossil museum to check out, then continue to Rissani with a local guide showing you around. By late afternoon you reach Merzouga, where you'll ride camels into the desert to a Berber camp. Dinner is traditional food, and you'll spend the evening by the campfire (approximately 180 characters).

- Day 3
Merzouga to Zagora
This morning starts with getting up early to see the desert sunrise from a sand dune, followed by breakfast. You'll ride camels back to your van, then freshen up before driving across the Moroccan Sahara toward Zagora. Along the way, you visit the trilobite fossil center in Alnif and the Tamnaugalt Kasbah set in the palm groves of the Draa Valley. You arrive in Zagora by late afternoon and stay at a Kasbah hotel for the night (approximately 180 characters).

You head back toward Marrakesh following the route you came in on, which gives you a chance to stop at any sites you missed during the first part of your trip. The drive back takes you through Morocco's different landscapes, from desert areas to the mountains, eventually returning you to your starting point (approximately 180 characters).
