Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Fez to Midelt

    You'll start with a morning pickup in Fez and head through the Sais plateau's agricultural areas toward the Middle Atlas. The drive takes you through some nice rolling farmland before stopping in Imouzer, where Dayet Aoua lake offers optional horse or donkey rides if you're interested. From there, it's on to Ifrane with its alpine feel and the cedar forests at Ifrane National Park, where you might catch sight of Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Azrou comes next so you can walk through the old town and more cedar forest areas. You'll arrive in Midelt by evening for dinner and your overnight stay, giving you time to settle in and rest after the day's driving.

  2. Day 2

    Midelt to Erg Chebbi Dunes

    After breakfast, you'll drive over the Middle Atlas Mountains and into the Ziz River Gorge, with views of the Tafilalt Oasis spreading out below. A stop at Moulay Ali Sherif Zaouia lets you explore the historical connections to the Moroccan royal dynasty's origins. Then it's to Rissani where you can walk through the traditional souks and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out on camelback toward your desert campsite as the sun sets over the dunes. The evening brings campfire time where you'll learn about Berber culture and have traditional desert meals, giving you a real sense of how people live out here.

  3. Day 3

    Erg Chebbi Dunes

    You'll wake early to catch the sunrise over the sand dunes, with optional camelback rides if you want them. After breakfast, the day is yours to explore the desert around Merzouga and the Tafilalt Oasis with several activities available depending on your preferences. By late afternoon, you'll transfer to Merzouga town where you'll stay overnight in a hotel, letting you shift from the desert camp experience to more standard lodging.

  4. Day 4

    Merzouga to Ouarzazate

    There's an optional early sunrise option with camelback rides if you're up for it. Once you've had breakfast, you'll drive toward Ouarzazate through traditional mudbrick towns and desert landscapes. Tinerhir is your first stop to check out ancient Berber architecture, and then you'll see the dramatic Todra Gorges where you can walk through the canyon. The route continues through Dades Valley with its palm groves, passing through Kelaat Mgouna and Soukora before arriving in Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight stay.

    Ouarzazate to Marrakesh

    You'll start after breakfast by walking through Ouarzazate's old town and visiting Taourirt Kasbah. Then it's to Morocco's largest movie studios to see where films get made. Next comes Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient mudbrick buildings set against desert scenery, where you can have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the whole area. From there, you'll drive into the High Atlas Mountains through forests and past mountain streams, stopping at Tizi n'Tichka pass before descending to Marrakesh, where the tour ends with your drop-off at your destination.
