Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Beijing
Your flight touches down in Beijing and you'll be met at the airport by your guide and driver for the transfer to your hotel. Once you're checked in, the rest of the day is open for you to either rest after traveling or take a walk around the neighborhood to get your bearings. It's a good idea to adjust to the time difference and explore what's nearby at your own pace.

- Day 2
Beijing
Start your Beijing adventure at Tiananmen Square, the city's central gathering place and one of the world's largest public squares. From there, you'll head into the Forbidden City where you can walk through its many halls and pavilions that once housed Chinese emperors. After grabbing lunch at a local restaurant, you'll see the Temple of Heaven, an ancient site where imperial ceremonies took place. By evening, catch an acrobatic show at the Red Theater to wrap up the day.

- Day 3
Beijing
Take a cable car up to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall for views and photos. While you're there on the wall, you'll raise a glass of red wine with your group for a toast. On the way back to the city, stop by the Olympic National Stadium, commonly called the Bird's Nest, for pictures. Later you'll ride through Beijing's old Hutong alleys by rickshaw and visit a local family's home to get a real sense of daily life here.

- Day 4
Beijing to Xi'an
You'll start by walking through the Summer Palace, an imperial garden with beautiful landscaping and historic structures. After a guided lunch, you'll head to Beijing train station to catch a high-speed train heading to Xi'an, which takes around 4.5 to 5.5 hours. Once you arrive, your driver and guide will meet you and take you to your hotel for the evening.

- Day 5
Xi'an
Your morning focuses on the Terracotta Army, that massive collection of terracotta sculptures from ancient China. You'll also visit the home of the soldier who discovered them and get to make your own small clay warrior as a hands-on activity. In the afternoon, you'll see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist monument that's been standing for centuries. Later that evening, you'll have dinner with dumplings and watch a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Xi'an to Shanghai
Start your morning at City Wall Park watching daily life unfold, then you'll practice Tai Chi with a master instructor. After that, you'll walk the City Wall itself, which is China's most complete surviving urban fortification from centuries past. Your guide takes you through the Muslim Quarter where you can try local foods and see the neighborhood's character. By afternoon, you'll board a flight to Shanghai where a local guide picks you up and drives you to your hotel.

Shanghai
You'll spend your morning at Shanghai Museum, one of China's four largest museums with extensive collections. Next, you'll see Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden, and the traditional bazaar nearby with local shops and vendors. In the afternoon, you'll take a one-hour cruise along the Huangpu River from the Bund, seeing the city's famous skyline from the water. Your guide brings you back to the hotel as the day winds down.

Shanghai - Suzhou - Tongli - Shanghai
Travel about 1.5 hours from Shanghai to Suzhou and see the Humble Administrator's Garden, which is the largest and most well-known classical garden in the city. You'll take a tricycle tour around the older streets to get the feel of the place. Later, head to Tongli Water Town where you can walk among old buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing periods. Your guide will drive you back to your Shanghai hotel when you're done.

- Day 9
Departure from Shanghai
Check out of your hotel before noon and arrange your own way to the airport. The hotel can help book a taxi ahead of time, which is a good idea. Pudong airport is about 1.5 hours away by car while Hongqiao is closer at around an hour. Have a safe trip home.
