Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at Luang Prabang International Airport and head to your hotel. After checking in, spend the rest of the evening settling in and taking it easy for the night.
- Day 2
Luang Prabang
Start before sunrise to watch monks collecting alms, a tradition that's been happening for centuries here. Later, walk through the morning market and then spend time at the Royal Palace Museum along with several major temples including Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, and Wat Xiengthong. You'll also have time with monks at Wat Mai before heading up the 328 steps to Phousi Hill to catch the sunset over town.

Luang Prabang
Take a two-hour long-tail boat ride up the Mekong River to reach Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of Buddha images are housed inside. The drive back to Luang Prabang takes you south toward Kuang Si waterfall. After hiking through the national park to the waterfall, there's a chance to swim if you'd like. Your evening is free to check out the night Bazaar and shop around.

Luang Prabang to Vientiane
After breakfast, head to the bus station for an 8-hour journey south to Vientiane. Once there, transfer to your hotel, check in, and relax for the rest of the day.

Vientiane
This morning you'll see Vientiane's main historic sites including Wat Sisaket (the oldest temple to survive the 1828 Siamese war, with over 8000 Buddha statues) and Wat Ho Prakeo with its collection of statues and artifacts. Stop at That Luang Stupa, Laos' most important monument, and Patouxay, the Lao Arc de Triomphe. Then drive an hour southeast to Buddha Park, a sculpture garden full of Buddhist and religious figures, including a giant concrete pumpkin with three interior levels.

Vientiane to Phnom Penh
Have breakfast, then transfer to Wattay International Airport for a 1 hour 15 minute flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, head to your hotel to check in and relax.

Phnom Penh
Start at the Silver Pagoda (also called the temple of the Emerald Buddha), which has Italian marble steps and a floor with over 5000 silver tiles weighing nearly 6 tons. Then explore the Royal Palace, built by the French in 1866 with a traditional Khmer-style Throne Room and 59-meter tower. End at Wat Phnom, sitting on a 27-meter high man-made hill, where four Buddha statues are said to have been deposited by the Mekong River.

Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
After breakfast, transfer to the bus station for a 7-hour drive to Siem Reap. The route passes through countryside where you'll see local houses and rural life. When you arrive, head to your hotel to check in and settle in for the night.

Siem Reap
Wake at 5am to catch sunrise at either Angkor Wat or Ta Prohm, the most photographed temple in the complex. Head back for breakfast, then continue to Angkor Thom, the 'Great City'. You'll walk through the South Gate, Victory Gate, and see the Terrace of the Elephants with its 300-meter-long terrace and three main platforms. Later, visit the Terrace of the Leper King, constructed in the 12th century.

Siem Reap
The morning is yours to explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, visit one of Siem Reap's authentic floating villages where families live in traditional wooden house boats that shift seasonally with water levels. Stop at a local home to see how life works on the water. After that, drive 15 minutes to the Silk Farm of Artisans d'Angkor to learn how underprivileged communities are reviving ancient silk-making crafts and supporting themselves.
