Itinerary
- Day 1
Johannesburg to Goo-Moremi
You'll leave Johannesburg and head north into Botswana, traveling through open landscapes toward Goo-Moremi campsite. Once you settle in, there's time to explore the gorge on foot and learn about the area's cultural and spiritual significance. If conditions are right, you might spot vultures nesting in the cliffs, and you could come across waterfalls tucked into the terrain.

Kubu Island
After breakfast, you'll transfer into an open 4WD vehicle to head out to Kubu Island and the Makgadikgadi Pans. The day involves walking around to see baobab trees, salt pans, and granite rock formations scattered across the landscape. The flat terrain works well for photography, and by evening the starry skies here are exceptional for night shots.

Landmarks/POIs Kubu Island Makgadikgadi Pans - Day 3
Makgadikgadi Pans to Gweta
The drive toward Gweta takes you along the edges of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, where the landscape opens up across salt flats spanning 30,000 square kilometers. You'll see large groups of zebra and wildebeest moving across the plains, along with various migratory birds. You'll camp at Planet Baobab Campsite and have the evening to relax under the stars.

Gweta to Maun
Starting later in the morning, you'll drive toward Maun, arriving around mid-afternoon. There's an optional activity to observe habituated meerkats in their family groups near the salt pan edges if that interests you. Once in Maun, you'll have time to resupply and relax before heading to a local restaurant for dinner.

Landmarks/POIs Okavango Delta - Days 5 - 7
Moremi Game Reserve
You'll head north into Moremi Game Reserve, a major conservation area that covers part of the Okavango Delta. Camp is set up for three nights in a secluded private location. During the day, you'll drive through the reserve in open 4WD vehicles looking for wild dogs, elephants, hippos, buffalo, and lions. Evenings are spent around the campfire, and there's always a chance to spot leopards if you're lucky.

Landmarks/POIs Moremi Game Reserve Okavango Delta - Days 8 - 10
Return to Maun
Local guides take you deep into the Okavango Delta using mekoro, traditional dugout canoes. You'll camp on remote islands and spend your days on bush walks, watching birds, and swimming in the water. Your guides share their lifestyle and knowledge of the area. By late afternoon on day 10, you're back in Maun at a campsite with solid facilities for the night.
- Days 11 - 13
Central Kalahari Game Reserve
You'll head north to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the largest and most remote reserve in Southern Africa. Over three days, you explore rolling grasslands, sand dunes, and fossilized river valleys like Deception Valley and Leopard Pan. The landscape feels genuinely wild and isolated, and game viewing here is really solid.

Landmarks/POIs Central Kalahari Game Reserve Deception Valley Leopard Pan - Day 14
Khama Rhino Sanctuary
The stop at Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust shows you a different side of conservation, this one community-based and focused on protecting rhinos. The reserve sits on Kalahari sandveld with natural waterholes throughout. You'll see white rhino, zebra, and wildebeest in a habitat that's being actively restored.

Landmarks/POIs Khama Rhino Sanctuary - Day 15
Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Johannesburg
After breakfast with your guides, you'll switch from the 4WD safari vehicle to a more comfortable minibus for the final drive back toward Johannesburg. There's a brief stop at a border crossing during the journey before you reach the airport by 5:00 PM.
