Pompeii or Herculaneum, Naples
Start your morning choosing between two options: head to Pompeii or Herculaneum to walk through the Roman ruins preserved by Mount Vesuvius's 79 AD eruption. This afternoon, you'll check out Naples' old town, see the royal palace, and stroll through Via San Gregorio Armeno to watch local craftsmen working on nativity figures. Later, visit the Cloister of Santa Chiara to see its 18th-century nativity scene.

Spend the morning cruising past the Aeolian Islands (Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi, and Alicudi), a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising from the cobalt blue sea. In the afternoon, head to the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna at Tindari and walk through an ancient Greek town with coastal views. You'll have free time later to explore the medieval city of Milazzo on your own.

Mount Etna, Taormina
You'll take a full-day trip to Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano. Ascend to about 1,950 meters (6,400 feet) where the Silvestri Craters sit near the summit with views across the lava wilderness. After that, head to the hilltop town of Taormina overlooking the Sicilian coast. There's an ancient Greek theater to explore and plenty of time to take in the coastal scenery.

Sorrento, Amalfi Coast
Cruise this morning along the coast. In the afternoon, head to Sorrento, a hillside city surrounded by orange and lemon orchards with great sea views. You'll sample limoncello, then continue to the Amalfi Coast to see colorful villages and seaside resorts along the dramatic coastline. By evening, there's a festive gala celebration on board.

Capri, Anacapri
Take an airboat to the island of Capri. Head up to Anacapri to visit Villa San Michele, built at the turn of the last century by Swedish physician Axel Munthe. The villa gardens offer fantastic views of Capri, the Gulf of Naples, and Mount Vesuvius. You'll have free time to explore or visit the Gardens of Augustus perched on a cliff. Later, return to Naples by airboat, and tonight features Neapolitan songs and dances entertainment.
