- CChristineOToole· October 26th, 2018There was not sufficient time given to stopping to view the scenery; the key point of taking the tour for me was to see the colours of the leaves. The itinerary included too many stops to find your lunch, allowing about 15 minutes to look at some shops in the towns along the route. It would have been better if we could have "packed lunches" which would have allowed for more structured site / scenery viewing and less time looking for cafes. The quality of the breakfasts varied significantly from hotel to hotel. Breakfast at The Sheraton in Portsmouth was almost inedible! Also, I was advised not to book flights before 3.00pm on the last day of the tour, necessitating me to book another night's accommodation in Boston at the end of the tour. In fact, the tour ended for me at 11.00am on the last day when I was dropped at the hotel; I could easily have caught a connecting flight that night had I known. The guide and driver were very helpful and kept things moving on time, and my fellow passengers were very friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my time on the tour, but I believe that the quality of food needs to be slightly improved, the consistency of that quality needs to be maintained throughout the tour and more consideration should to given to enabling structured time to be spent viewing scenery rather than spending a large chunk of the middle of most days finding food!Show moreTrip date: September 2018
