Denver
You'll touch down at Denver International Airport and head to your hotel on your own to meet up with your tour guide. Take some time to settle in and get oriented to the Mile High City before things get going over the next several days.

Rocky Mountain National Park - Cheyenne
Start the day with a short city tour of Denver, checking out the golden-domed State Capitol building. Then drive to Rocky Mountain National Park to see Trail Ridge Road, which takes you above the tree line to 12,187 feet with incredible views in all directions. Later head toward Cheyenne, Wyoming to look at historic steam locomotives, including the famous Big Boy locomotive.

Fort Laramie - Mount Rushmore - Deadwood
Begin in the morning at Fort Laramie National Historic Site, learning about its history as a fur trading post and military center in the Old West. After that, make your way through the Black Hills to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, where you'll see the four massive 60-foot-high presidential carvings carved into the mountainside. End the day in Deadwood.

Bighorn National Forest - Cody
Travel through Wyoming via the Bighorn National Forest, surrounded by untouched hills, mountain lakes, and thick pine forests. Once you reach Cody, visit the Buffalo Bill Museum to learn about William F. Cody's life and Wyoming's Western history. If you're interested, there are optional evening activities like rodeos and historic shootouts.

Canyonlands National Park - Moab

Walk around Island in the Sky, which rises 1,000 feet on steep sandstone cliffs, then continue to Moab for a two-night stay.

Glenwood Springs (Rocky Mountaineer)
Board the Rocky Mountaineer luxury train and start a two-day journey from Moab to Glenwood Springs. During the trip, you'll travel through vast canyons, sprawling deserts, natural archways, and towering hoodoos. Watch for views of Mount Garfield and the vibrant Ruby Canyon as you approach the resort town of Glenwood Springs.

- Day 10
Denver (Rocky Mountaineer)
Continue on the Rocky Mountaineer from Glenwood Springs back to Denver. Have a hot breakfast while the morning sun illuminates the rugged canyons as you travel along the Colorado River. Hear stories about the region's settlement history and cross the Continental Divide through the Moffat Tunnel before pulling into Denver Union Station between 5 and 7 pm.
