Itinerary
- Day 1
Dublin
You'll arrive in Dublin whenever works best for you. Once settled, the Hop on-Hop off bus tour is available if you want a guided overview of the main sights. Consider stopping by the Guinness Storehouse for a pint in the Gravity Bar, which offers views across the city. By evening, head to Temple Bar to check out the traditional Irish pubs and get a feel for the local atmosphere.

- Day 2
Dublin to Westport
Travel west toward County Mayo and the coastal town of Westport on the Wild Atlantic Way. You'll cycle the Westport Circular Greenway route, which runs about 10 km through town and surrounding countryside. The route has multiple starting points around the town center, so it's flexible depending on where you want to begin. The views through the area are nice and manageable for most fitness levels.

- Day 3
Great Western Greenway
Drive to Newport to see the distinctive red sandstone viaduct and the Romanesque church there. After that, you'll tackle the Newport-Mulranny section of the Great Western Greenway, roughly 18 km with moderate difficulty. Along the way you'll pass Burrishoole Abbey and Rockfleet Castle, and you'll have views of Nephin Beg mountains, Clew Bay, and Clare Island throughout the ride.

Cultural Highlights of Mayo, Sligo or North Galway
This day focuses on cultural sites in the region. The National Museum of Ireland-Country Life in Castlebar is worth a visit and has free entry if you want to learn about Irish country life from 1850-1950. Alternatively, head to the Ceide Fields Stone Age site with its distinctive pyramid-shaped visitor center, or drive south to Kylemore Abbey, a 19th-century castle home to Benedictine nuns with a visitor center and Victorian garden. Later, stop at Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, where boat tours are available if you're interested.

Great Western Greenway Mulranny to Achill
You'll cycle the Mulranny-to-Achill section of the Great Western Greenway, about 14 km with moderate difficulty. This stretch is considered the most scenic part of the full route, with impressive coastal views and Nephin Beg Mountains as a backdrop. The ride takes you through several bays and past the Danlann Yawl Art Gallery where there's a café to grab a break. If time permits, explore Achill Island's beaches, high cliffs, and open moorland with quiet paths for walking.

Achill/Westport to Dublin
Have breakfast and then drive back east toward Dublin for your final evening. The route takes you through rolling Irish countryside, giving a nice sense of the landscape you've cycled through over the past few days. You'll be back in Dublin by evening.
