You'll arrive in Reykjavik and make your way from the airport, which sits about 50 km away from your hotel. Depending on when you land, you can either spend time getting to know the capital on your own or take it easy and rest up before things kick off tomorrow.

Thingvellir - Geysir - Gullfoss - Selfoss
Meet your guide and group at 9 am to start exploring Iceland's most iconic sights. You'll head to Thingvellir National Park first to see the historic parliament site and the dramatic gorge cutting through the landscape. After that, you're off to check out Strokkur geyser and Gullfoss waterfall as part of the Golden Circle route. Before wrapping up, you'll stop at a seventh-generation family dairy farm for traditional tastings, then drive to Selfoss for the evening.

Seljalandsfoss - Skogafoss - Cape Dyrholaey - Geirland
Start your day at Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can actually walk behind the water curtain. From there, head to Skogafoss, which is incredibly powerful, and there's an optional steep path if you want to get closer to the edge. You'll then drive along the southern coast toward Cape Dyrholaey at Iceland's southern tip, where you can see bird cliffs and walk across the dramatic black sand beaches.

Skaftafell National Park - Jokulsarlon - Hofn
This morning you'll reach Skaftafell National Park with its glacier-formed valleys and waterfalls, and you'll hike through the blue and white glacier scenery. The real highlight comes when you get to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon filled with floating icebergs. You'll recognize it if you've seen it in films before, and then you'll head to Hofn where you're staying at a family-run farm hotel.

East Fjords - Egilsstadir
Today is mostly about the drive itself through the East Fjords region. Towering mountains line the route with small fishing villages tucked at their base, and the Ring Road winds through narrow strips of land between mountains and ocean. The journey really is the main attraction here, giving you time to see how the landscape changes.

- Day 6
Modrudalur - Namaskard Pass - Lake Myvatn
You'll cross through remote highlands that look almost lunar, passing through the Modrudalur area before climbing Namaskard Pass at around 410 m high. This is an active volcanic zone with steam vents and bubbling mud springs everywhere. You'll see hot steam springs and geothermal activity throughout, then settle in near Lake Myvatn for the night.

Lake Myvatn
Spend the day exploring Lake Myvatn where continental plates actually meet. The area has fertile regions with green fields, tons of bird life, and bizarre lava formations and pseudocraters scattered around. You'll go to Myvatn Nature Baths, sometimes called the Blue Lagoon of the North, and swim in the warm geothermal water. It's interesting seeing frozen waterfalls right near hot springs.

Godafoss - Akureyri - Skagafjord - Borgarfjordur
Start at Godafoss, known as the God Waterfall because of its connection to Iceland's conversion to Christianity. Walk through Akureyri after that, which locals call the Pearl of the North, then head to Skagafjord where you'll visit a farm to learn about Icelandic horses and their traditional gaits. You'll end up in Borgarfjordur for the evening.

Deildartunguhver - Hraunfossar - Barnafoss - Reykjavik
Check out Deildartunguhver, the world's largest hot water spring with steam billowing everywhere, and you'll learn how local greenhouses use the geothermal heat to grow fruit and vegetables. See Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls where underground river waters pour into the glacial river Hvita. After that, head back to Reykjavik for a city tour and orientation, and then you'll have free time tomorrow to do your own thing.

Reykjavik
You have the whole day to explore Reykjavik on your own. The northernmost capital in the world is pretty easy to walk around, especially the center and old town. Just keep in mind that during winter dates, heavy snowstorms can sometimes close the Ring Road, which might mean changing your schedule and skipping this free day.
