Itinerary
- Day 1
Oslo
Your adventure begins when you arrive in Oslo. Take time to walk around the city at your own pace and get a feel for Norway's capital. Karl Johans Gate is the main street to check out, with street musicians performing and shops lining both sides. The Royal Palace sits at one end of the street, so you'll pass by it as you wander through. Stop by the Opera House, which has an interesting modern design you can walk right up to. Akershus Fortress offers views over the harbor and the city, and it's worth spending an hour there. Later, head to Gustav Vigeland Park where you'll find over 200 sculptures spread throughout the grounds - it's a peaceful spot to spend the afternoon. By evening, settle into your accommodation and get some rest before the next day's journey.

- Day 2
Oslo to Bergen
This is a full travel day with several different transportation modes. You'll start by boarding the Bergen Railway, which takes you through the Hallingdal valley and then across the Hardangervidda plateau. The scenery on this route is something special - you'll see mountains, valleys, and farmland as the train climbs higher. Next, you'll transfer to the Flam Railway, a narrow-gauge line that descends into the valley with steep grades and hairpin turns. The views from the train are great, and the whole descent takes about two hours. After arriving in Flam, you'll board a fjord cruise that goes through the Aurlandsfjord and then into the Nærøyfjord, both of which are UNESCO sites. The water and mountains create a nice contrast. From there, a bus takes you to Voss, and then you'll catch another train to Bergen. Once you arrive, explore Bryggen, the old harbor area with its colorful wooden buildings dating back centuries. Check out the fish market if you're hungry, and wander through the narrow alleyways between the buildings. Other attractions are scattered around the city if you have energy left. Spend the night in Bergen.

- Day 3
Departure from Bergen
Today is your departure day from Bergen. The tour operator suggests that if you'd like to extend your trip, you can arrange a journey on a Havila Voyages ship departing from Bergen. This would take you along the Norwegian coast on a coastal voyage if that interests you. Otherwise, you'll make your own way from the city according to your travel plans.
