Itinerary
- Day 1
South Bali to Yogyakarta
Your hotel pickup happens this morning, and from there you'll head to the airport in South Bali for a domestic flight to Yogyakarta (roughly an hour in the air). Once you land, your guide meets you and takes you to the hotel. The afternoon and evening are open, so you can wander around Jalan Malioboro street if you want to browse shops and antiques, or just settle in by the pool and rest after traveling.

- Day 2
Yogyakarta
This is a full day exploring Yogyakarta's cultural side. You'll start by seeing the Kraton, which is the Sultan's Palace, then check out the ruins of Taman Sari moated castle. The old town comes next with its traditional market, batik factory, and silversmith's workshop where you can see how craftspeople work. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Prambanan temple complex, a Hindu sanctuary with intricate relief carvings showing scenes from the Ramayana. Back at the hotel, you have the option to watch a Ramayana dance performance with dinner if you're interested.

Borobudur - Candirejo
Early on you'll head to Borobudur temple, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, and stop at the smaller Candi Mendut and Candi Pawon temples along the way. Then you'll go to the village of Candirejo set in rainforest, where you can pick between a bicycle tour or carriage ride to see local life. You'll walk past traditional houses, watch how people make manioc chips, learn about Javanese gamelan music, and stroll through vegetable gardens. Lunch is a traditional Javanese meal served in the village, and you'll return to Yogyakarta in the afternoon.

- Day 4
Yogyakarta to Mount Bromo
An early train departs Yogyakarta this morning for a 3-hour journey to Mojokerto, where you'll grab lunch. After that, you'll visit Candi Gunung Gangsir, an 11th-century Hindu temple built with red bricks. The drive toward eastern Java takes about 2.5 hours through varied landscapes including volcanic areas and plantations. You'll reach Mount Bromo as the sun's setting and check into your lodge for the night.

Mount Bromo to South Bali
Around 4 a.m. you're up and heading out on an off-road vehicle to Mount Penanjakan to watch sunrise from the panoramic platform. You'll see the sea of sand in the volcanic crater, Mount Batok, and the active volcanoes Mount Bromo and Mount Nahameru. Back at the hotel by late morning, you'll have a leisurely breakfast, then transfer to Surabaya airport for your midday flight back to Bali. You'll arrive at your South Bali hotel around 7:30 p.m., wrapping up the trip.
