- Day 1
Flight to Tokyo
Your journey begins with an international flight to Tokyo. You can choose from several carriers including Emirates, Qatar Airways, or Turkish Airlines depending on your preferences and schedule. Once you board, it's a long haul but the flight gets you to one of the world's most dynamic cities.



- Day 2
Tokyo
You'll land in Tokyo and transfer by bus to your hotel. After checking in, the afternoon is yours to explore the megacity at your own pace. Whether you grab a bite, walk around your neighborhood, or rest from the flight, you can start getting a feel for the rhythm of Tokyo.

Tokyo
This day is packed with Tokyo's highlights. You'll start at Meiji Shrine, then head to Mori Tower's observation deck for sweeping city views. From there, you'll see the Imperial Palace, walk through upscale Ginza, check out the Buddhist Kannon Temple in Asakusa with its distinctive Thunder Gate, and stroll along the Sumida River with views of Tokyo Skytree.

Tokyo
You have flexibility today. Either explore Tokyo on your own or join an optional trip to Nikko, a UNESCO World Heritage site about an hour away. There you'll see Toshogu Shrine's intricate wood carvings and Rinnoji Temple's massive Buddhist statues. If you're visiting during cherry blossom season (mid-March through late April), locals gather at Sumida Park or Ueno Park for hanami viewing.

- Day 5
Tokyo to Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park
A bus takes you about an hour to Kamakura on the coast. You'll visit Hasedera Temple with its thousands of Jizo statues and the famous Great Buddha. Then you'll travel through bamboo cedar forests and rice fields toward Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park for a boat tour (weather depending) with Mount Fuji views. The day ends with a traditional onsen bath. Pack light carry-on luggage since your main bags transfer separately.

- Day 6
Fuji-Hakone-Izu to Hiroshima
After a bus ride to Mishima, you'll board the ultra-modern Shinkansen super express train to Himeji, covering roughly 525 kilometers in under 3 hours. At Himeji you'll see the White Heron Castle, Japan's largest castle and a UNESCO site now fully restored. Later you'll continue to Hiroshima, where dinner at a local restaurant gives you a chance to try okonomiyaki if you'd like.

- Day 7
Hiroshima and Miyajima
You'll spend the morning visiting Hiroshima's Peace Park and wartime memorials, including the Atomic Bomb Dome. Then it's about an hour by bus and ferry to the sacred island of Miyajima. There you'll see the red gate of Itsukushima Shrine at high tide, one of Japan's most important Shinto sites. You'll return to Hiroshima by early evening.

Hiroshima to Nara to Kyoto
You're heading to Nara, the cradle of Japanese culture and Japan's first permanent capital in the 8th century. You'll walk through Nara Park where deer roam freely and visit the Great Buddha Hall at Todaji Temple, home to the world's largest bronze Buddha. You'll also see Kofukuji Temple's 42-meter pagoda and its rebuilt Golden Hall before continuing to Kyoto, arriving late afternoon.

- Day 9
Kyoto
Kyoto's cultural treasures fill your day. You'll drive to the northern foothills and walk through the world-famous bamboo grove in Arashiyama. After that comes Tenryuji, a UNESCO Zen temple with gardens and gravel areas. You'll check out the Golden Pavilion at Kinkakuji and Nijo Castle. In the afternoon, explore colorful shopping streets like Shijo and Kawaramachi, then browse Nishiki-dori market for traditional Kyoto food. Evening temple illuminations are optional during spring and fall.

Kyoto
Kyoto again offers flexibility. Spend the day on your own or join an optional excursion covering the Silver Pavilion, the Philosophers' Walk (beautiful during cherry blossoms), Heian Shrine with Japan's largest gate, Nanzenji Temple's famous rock garden, Fushimi-Inari Shrine's distinctive gate galleries, and Sanjusangendo temple with 1,001 wooden Kannon statues. An optional evening experience includes geisha dances and shabushabu dining.

You'll check out of your Kyoto hotel with time to explore on your own before a bus transfer to Osaka/Kansai Airport. You'll say goodbye to your tour guide, then depart on your return flight to Germany.
