This is a long drive south along Eighty Mile Beach and through the Great Sandy Desert to Port Hedland. Make sure you've got plenty of water and food packed, and fill up your gas tank before heading out since there aren't many stops along the way.

Port Hedland to Karijini National Park
You'll drive to Karijini National Park where you'll find all kinds of gorges and waterholes scattered throughout. After you arrive, settle into your glamping accommodation for the next two nights.

Karijini National Park
Spend the day walking around Karijini National Park on your own. Don't skip Oxers Lookout, the views from there are really worth the trip up.

Karijini National Park to Coral Bay
Head to Coral Bay on Ningaloo Reef. The white sand beaches and clear turquoise water make it a great base for getting out onto the reef, so you'll have plenty to do once you get settled in.

Coral Bay and Ningaloo Reef
You can dive, snorkel, or swim at Ningaloo Reef today. This World Heritage site is Australia's largest fringing reef and you might see whale sharks, humpback whales, or manta rays. Shark Bay and its marine national park are also worth checking out from here.

Coral Bay to Monkey Mia
The drive continues along the coast through Carnarvon and finally to Monkey Mia. You'll be staying at a beachfront resort for two nights, so take your time getting comfortable once you arrive.

Monkey Mia
Today is yours to do what you want. Hang out at the beach and watch for the wild dolphins that come right up to the shore at Monkey Mia. It's a pretty unique experience just hanging around and waiting to see them.

Monkey Mia to Kalbarri National Park
Drive to Kalbarri National Park and start exploring the deep rocky gorges and nice beaches in the area. You'll have time to wander around and see what catches your interest.

Kalbarri to Nambung National Park
Head south through Geraldton (the 'Sun City') and continue to Nambung National Park. The Pinnacles here are thousands of limestone pillars reaching up to 4 meters high, and the ochre-colored sand creates an otherworldly feel. Try to visit at dawn or dusk when the light really brings out the landscape.

Nambung National Park to Perth
You'll drive into Perth, Western Australia's capital. The afternoon and evening are free to explore the city however you want. If you'd rather skip the city, you can take the ferry out to Rottnest Island about 19 km away to see the quokkas.
