Itinerary
- Day 1
Lemosho Glades
Your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure starts at Lemosho Glades gate where you'll handle registration and get oriented. From there, the initial hike takes you through lush rainforest with a relatively gentle pace. You'll cover about 7 kilometers over 3 to 4 hours at moderate difficulty, which gives your body time to adjust before the terrain gets more challenging.

Shira Plateau
The trail gradually climbs through heather and moorland zones as you work your way toward higher elevations. Views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak start coming into focus. This section covers approximately 10 kilometers and takes 6 to 7 hours at moderate difficulty, so you'll need to keep a steady pace throughout the day.

Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
You'll reach Lava Tower at 4,630 meters where altitude effects start becoming noticeable. After that, the route descends to Barranco Camp, which sits in a valley beneath the Great Barranco Wall. The full day is about 10 kilometers over 6 to 7 hours and classified as challenging, so this is where the climb becomes more demanding.

- Day 4
Barranco Wall to Karanga Valley
Early on, a steep scramble up the Barranco Wall tests your fitness and nerve, but once you reach the top, the views open up nicely. After that vantage point, the trail descends into Karanga Valley. You'll cover roughly 7 kilometers in 4 to 5 hours at challenging difficulty, making this one of the tougher days physically.

Barafu Camp
The ascent continues through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Camp, your staging point for the final push to the summit. The landscape here is sparse and rocky, quite different from the lower slopes. This stretch is about 6 kilometers over 4 to 5 hours with moderate to challenging difficulty as the altitude really starts to affect you.

Uhuru Peak
Summit day begins around midnight with the ascent to Uhuru Peak, the mountain's highest point at 5,895 meters. The climb involves steep sections and significant altitude impact on your body and mind. After reaching the summit and soaking in that accomplishment, you'll descend to Mweka Camp for the night. The round trip to the summit plus descent totals approximately 10 kilometers, and this day is the most demanding of your entire trek.

Mweka Gate
The final day takes you down through rainforest to Mweka Gate, and you'll receive your summit certificates recognizing your achievement. After saying goodbye to your mountain crew and celebrating with them, you'll head out with memories and a real sense of accomplishment. This descent covers about 10 kilometers in 3 to 4 hours at moderate difficulty, allowing for a gentler finish after the intensity of summit day.
