Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Hanoi
Your driver meets you at Hanoi airport and takes you to your hotel. After settling in and freshening up from your flight, you'll head out in the late afternoon for a food tour through Hanoi's streets. This is when the city really comes alive, and you'll get to try local dishes at different stops around the Old Quarter. By evening you'll head back to your hotel to rest.

- Day 2
Hanoi City Tour
This morning you join a group walking through Hanoi's main attractions. The city moves fast and feels chaotic, but that's part of what makes it interesting. You'll see the Hoan Kiem Lake area, visit some temples, and walk through neighborhoods where you get a real sense of how people live here. The tour covers the highlights and helps you understand the layout of the city before exploring on your own later.

- Day 3
Hanoi to Ninh Binh
Early departure takes you south to Ninh Binh, about two hours from Hanoi. The landscape shifts to endless rice paddies with limestone mountains rising up dramatically. On the group tour you'll visit a local temple, then get in a small boat and float down the river through caves. Later you climb up to Mua Cave for views across the whole valley. By evening you're settled into a family-run homestay, and you can watch the sun go down from your room.

- Day 4
Ninh Binh to Ha Long Bay
After breakfast you drive to Halong City and board your overnight cruise. The boat takes you out into Ha Long Bay where limestone formations rise straight out of the water. During the day you'll kayak into some of the caves and explore the formations up close. There's time to relax on deck with a drink, and that night you sleep on the boat anchored in the bay.

- Day 5
Ha Long Bay to Hoi An
The cruise heads back to Halong City in the morning. From there you drive back to Hanoi, and later that evening you board an overnight train heading south toward Hoi An. You'll sleep in your cabin as the train moves through Vietnam. It's a long journey but a practical way to cover the distance while you rest.

- Day 6
Arrival in Hoi An
You arrive in Hoi An around midday and have the early afternoon free to grab lunch wherever you want. Later on an afternoon group tour covers the main parts of this old town. The architecture here has a completely different feel from Hanoi, with narrow streets and traditional buildings. You'll get oriented to the area and learn some history before having the evening to yourself.

Ba Na Hills
A day trip takes you to Ba Na Hills, a hilltop area where the temperature and landscape change as you go higher. It's marketed as experiencing four seasons in one day because the weather shifts that much. The main attraction is the Golden Bridge, a long pedestrian walkway held up by two enormous stone hands carved right out of the mountain. It's quite a sight, and from there you can see out over the surrounding hills.

- Day 8
My Son & Fisherman Experience
This full-day tour combines two experiences. In the morning you go out with local fishermen and see how they work the water and cast their nets. After that you visit My Son Holyland, an archaeological site with temple ruins from the Champa kingdom that ruled this region centuries ago. It's a good way to understand the history and see how people have lived in this area over time.

- Day 9
Departure from Hoi An
Your nine days come to an end. If you're flying out, your driver takes you to the airport. Alternatively, you can stay longer in Vietnam or travel elsewhere in Southeast Asia, and the tour operator can help arrange that. By this point you'll have met other travelers and locals who can point you toward what to do next.
