Itinerary
- Day 1
Dresden to Metz
Your coach departs Dresden heading west, traveling through several German cities including Chemnitz, Gera, Jena, and Weimar. After passing through Erfurt and Eisenach, the route continues via Frankfurt and into the Rhine-Neckar region before moving through the Palatinate toward Saarbrücken. From there, you'll cross into France to reach Metz on the Moselle River. Upon arrival, a guided walk takes you through Metz's historic center before checking into your hotel at the city's edge.

- Day 2
Metz to Rouen
After breakfast, you'll head west to the Verdun battlefields, significant WWI trench warfare sites from 1916. The day includes visits to white cross cemeteries, the Douaumont ossuary, and a former artillery fort. Then you'll travel through the Champagne and Picardy regions, arriving in Rouen, Normandy's main city, where you'll stay overnight.

- Day 3
Étretat - Honfleur - Caen
This morning features a guided tour of Rouen's Notre-Dame Cathedral and medieval center, where you'll see the Gros Horloge clock tower and half-timbered houses. You'll visit the historic market square associated with Joan of Arc. Later, you head to Étretat on the Norman coast to view the rock formations, stop briefly at the Pont de Normandie bridge, and continue to the fishing village of Honfleur with its harbor. The evening brings you to Caen.

Normandy Landing Beaches to St. Malo
Today follows the D-Day beaches from 1944. You'll start at Sword Beach (Ouistreham to Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer), then continue west to Arromanches, Juno, Gold, Utah, and Omaha beaches. Military museums and war cemeteries are included throughout the day. By evening, you reach St. Malo in Brittany.

You'll visit Mont St. Michel, the fortified monastery complex from the 8th century, exploring winding alleyways and churches from different periods. In the afternoon, you head to Cancale, Brittany's oyster region, where you can try freshly caught seafood at the small oyster market by the harbor and experience the coastal setting.

Quimper
The Breton coast features prominently today. You'll start at Cap Fréhel lighthouse overlooking 70-meter cliffs, then head to Ploumanach on the Pink Granite Coast for a walk along the Old Publican's Path to see unusual rock formations. After visiting an enclosed parish in Guimiliau with its decorated calvaries, you arrive in Quimper's old town for the evening.

- Day 7
Quimper
You have leisure time in Quimper, or can join an optional tour exploring Brittany's western tip. That tour covers the Cornouaille peninsula, reaches Pointe du Raz (France's westernmost mainland point) with dramatic waves against offshore rocks, passes through Cornouaille, and stops at Locronan, a medieval village used as a film location, before returning to Quimper.

Concarneau - Carnac - Vannes
You'll travel to Concarneau on Brittany's south coast to explore its fortifications and old town. Next comes the Carnac menhir fields with mysterious stone monuments up to 6,000 years old. Later, you reach Vannes, a harbor town with over 2,000 years of history, where a guided walk takes you through the center and past the city wall before checking into your hotel.

Angers - Chartres - Paris
After passing through Nantes, once home to Brittany's Dukes, you head to Angers, the Anjou region's capital on the River Maine. Then you continue to Chartres to see its Gothic cathedral famous for ornate stained glass windows that shift through red or warm blue tones depending on sun position. A short stroll through Chartres precedes your arrival at a hotel in a Paris suburb.

Paris to Dresden
After breakfast, your return to Germany begins. The first exit option is at the Goldene Bremm service area on BAB6 at the French border. From there, the route goes through the Palatinate Forest via Mannheim and Frankfurt, passes the Vogelsberg volcanic region, and returns to Dresden through Erfurt, Gera, and Chemnitz. Exit options are available throughout. If traveling by car or train, you depart individually from the tour group.
