Day 1
Embarkation
You'll board the DCS Amethyst 1 at 14:30 and get your cabin sorted. Once you're settled, head to the welcome reception where there's a snack buffet and a welcome cocktail waiting. It's a good chance to meet other passengers and get familiar with the ship before dinner service starts.

Vienna

The ship was comfortable, the crew (staff) always polite and attentive. The guided tours were difficult to understand (not because of the language, I have no problem with German) because the guide should have had some sort of microphone. The participants were all elderly and their hearng maybe not so good. The food (vegetarian for me) was excellent and our table waiter very efficient and friendly. The attention to detail in the cabin was more than I expected. Even though I am bilingual the menu and the daily information sheets were in English which I had not requested but I appreciated the thought. The weather was perfect which makes a holiday so much more enjoyable. The holiday began with my getting out of a taxi at the ship and immediately having my luggage carried on board where a 'stewardess' took it and showed me to my cabin suggesting that if I go to the lounge right now there would still be coffee and cake served. A good beginning. .

The river cruise over the Christmas period exceeded our expectations. A beautiful, well-maintained ship, a spacious cabin, good food and, last but not least, a very friendly and courteous crew. The excursion program on offer was also very informative, even if it was tightly timed. Conclusion: gladly again! Special thanks to TOURRADAR for the good support in the run-up to the trip. You really went to a lot of trouble.
