Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech
You'll arrive in Marrakech and get settled into your accommodation for your first night. This gives you time to adjust to the city and rest up before exploring.
- Day 2
Marrakech to Essaouira
Head out toward Essaouira, but you'll stop along the way at a Berber women's cooperative to see how traditional argan oil is made. If you're interested, you can jump in and help with the process, then taste the oil itself. After that, continue on to Essaouira and check into your accommodation for the evening.

Essaouira
Spend the day walking through Essaouira's ramparts and medina, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city draws surfers and has a really vibrant arts community, so you'll notice that energy as you wander. Walk along the city walls for some nice views, then explore the winding streets at your own pace.

Essaouira to El Jadida
Drive down the Mediterranean coast to Al Jadida to see the Portuguese fortifications and Renaissance military architecture from the 15th to 18th centuries. You'll check out historic churches and chapels, including the notable Portuguese Cistern, which was originally an arsenal but later became a water storage space.

El Jadida to Assilah
Travel to Casablanca to see the Hassan II Mosque, which sits partially built into the Atlantic Ocean. From there, head to Rabat, Morocco's capital, where you'll see the royal palace, the Sultan's tombs, the Chellah necropolis, and Mohamed V's tomb. Later, drive north to Assilah for the night.

Assilah to Tangier and back to Assilah
Drive to Tangier and explore this historic port city. You'll visit the Marshan necropolis with its ancient Carthaginian stone tombs, then move to the Kasbah district to see the museum with its archaeological finds. Wander through the lively medina around Petit Socco with its markets and shops, and stop by the Anglican Church of St. Andrew from 1894. Then head back to Assilah for the night.

Assilah to Chefchaouen
Drive over the Rif Mountains through Tetuan on your way to Chefchaouen. The route offers beautiful panoramic mountain views as you head into this distinctive blue city, where you'll settle in for the evening.

Chefchaouen
Explore Chefchaouen's old town with its narrow winding alleys, small plazas, and the characteristic blue and whitewashed buildings. Local tradition says the blue keeps away the evil eye. You'll also visit the Alcazaba, a rammed earth fortress with a garden that now holds exhibits on the city's history and culture.

Chefchaouen to Fes
Travel to Moulay Idriss and then to Volubilis, an ancient ruined city and UNESCO World Heritage Site with some of the best-preserved Roman monuments in North Africa. By afternoon, you'll arrive in Fes and check into your accommodation for the night.

Fes
Take a guided tour of Fes, Morocco's oldest royal city. You'll see the three districts: Fes El Jadid, Fes El Bali, and the new town. Along the way, check out the city walls, the Botha Palace with its arts and crafts museum, the Bou Inania Koranic school, the Karaouine Mosque, the tomb of Idriss II, and the potters' quarter.

Afourer to Marrakech
Cross the Middle Atlas toward Marrakech, passing the Bin el Ouidane reservoir along the way. Stop in the Berber town of Azilal, then head to the spectacular Ouzoud waterfalls. You'll arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, a city surrounded by thousands of palm trees with palaces, mosques, gardens, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna marketplace.

Marrakech
