Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tokyo
You'll arrive at either Tokyo Narita or Haneda Airport where your driver will be waiting for you. The transfer to Hotel East 21 Tokyo takes about an hour depending on traffic and which airport you land at. Once you check in, spend the rest of the day settling in and recovering from your flight.
- Day 2
Tokyo
Start your morning at Senso-Ji, Tokyo's oldest temple that's been standing for over 1,400 years. From there, head to teamLab Planets Tokyo to walk through their immersive digital art galleries. After lunch, you'll take a one-hour Sumida River cruise where you'll see Tokyo Sky Tree, Tsukiji Bridge, and Rainbow Bridge from the water. Later in the afternoon, make your way to Odaiba Seaside Park to catch some nice views of Tokyo Bay and get some photos before sunset.

Tokyo
Begin at Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo's largest spiritual site located in a forested area right next to Harajuku Station. Then head over to Zojo-Ji Temple, which sits in the shadow of Tokyo Tower. You'll get to go up Tokyo Tower's viewing deck for panoramic views across the city. In the afternoon, make your way to Akihabara, the Electric Town district where you can see shops filled with anime merchandise and electronic gadgets.

Mt. Fuji Region
You'll head out to Tenjozan Park where you can ride the ropeway for views of Mt. Fuji. Take a cable car up to Kawaguchiko Tenjozan Park for peaceful scenery looking out over Mt. Fuji and the town. Later, get on an excursion boat on Lake Kawaguchi, then visit Oshino Hakkai, which has eight crystal-clear springs in the Fuji Five Lake region. The whole day offers different perspectives of Mt. Fuji depending on where you stand.

Nikko
Travel to Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture where you'll visit Toshogun Shrine, a major Shinto shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. See Kegon Falls, created by the Daiya River with its impressive drop. You can choose between visiting Chuzenji Lake with views of Mount Nantai or spending time at one of Nikko's hot springs to relax after the day's exploration.

- Day 6
Nikko to Karuizawa
Check out the Stone Church, an unconsecrated chapel built in 1988 that mixes architecture with the natural landscape. Walk around Kumobaike Pond, also called Swan Lake, on a peaceful 1-kilometer path through the area. Then head to Shiraito Falls, one of Japan's most beautiful waterfalls. It's particularly popular during hot summer months when visitors want to cool off near the water.

- Day 7
Jigokudani Monkey Park
You'll spend your day at Jigokudani Monkey Park watching wild Japanese macaques, also known as snow monkeys, in their natural habitat. They'll be bathing in the area's natural hot springs, and you'll get to see them up close in this unique setting. It's a full day focused on observing these animals in their environment.

- Day 8
Nagano to Kyoto
Start at Zenko-Ji Temple, the historic temple town center that was crucial to Nagano's development. Later, you'll board the Shinkansen bullet train from Nagano to Tsuruga, which takes about 2 hours and 25 minutes. After arriving, transfer to another train for the final leg to Kyoto, approximately 53 minutes. You'll arrive in Kyoto by evening with time to check into your hotel.

Kyoto
This morning, visit Higashi Honganji Temple, built in 1602 and featuring the Goeido, one of the world's largest wooden structures. Then see Sanjusangendo where 1,001 statues of Kannon line the hall. Head to Nishiki Market, known as Kyoto's Kitchen, where over 100 shops sell everything from fresh food to crafts. In the afternoon, experience a traditional kimono fitting and take part in a tea ceremony where you'll learn matcha green tea preparation.

Arashiyama
You'll spend the morning on a half-day walking tour of Arashiyama. See Tenryuji Temple with its sprawling gardens and views, then walk through the towering Sagano Bamboo Forest. Cross Togetsukyo Bridge for photos. After lunch, ride the scenic Sagano Railway along the Hozugawa River in an old-fashioned train car. Later, explore Okochi-Sanso Villa, one of Kyoto's finest traditional residential complexes, where you can enjoy complimentary matcha at their teahouse.

Fushimi Inari, Nara & Osaka
Head to Fushimi Inari Shrine in southern Kyoto where thousands of vermilion torii gates line the trails through the wooded forest of sacred Mount Inari. Travel to Nara Park afterward to see free-roaming sika deer, which are designated national treasures, and feed them with specially sold crackers. Visit Todai-Ji Temple to see its grand Nandaimon gate and the enormous Daibutsuden, or Great Buddha Hall. End your day at Kasuga Taisha, Nara's most venerated shrine decorated with hundreds of hanging bronze lanterns.

Osaka
Start at the Cup Noodles Museum to learn the history of instant ramen and its inventor, Momofuku Ando. Then head to Osaka Castle Park where you can walk through the Nishinomaru Garden and see views of Osaka Castle, especially beautiful during cherry blossom season. Spend the late afternoon in Shinsekai, an eclectic neighborhood with architecture inspired by Paris and New York. Check out the Tsutenkaku Tower, a 103-meter replica of the Eiffel Tower built in 1912, which has an observation deck and even a 60-meter slide.

This is your free day in Osaka. You can rest at your hotel or make your own arrangements to explore the city further. Take it easy or check out neighborhoods you might have missed, try local restaurants, or just enjoy some downtime before your departure.

Departure from Osaka
Your guide will meet you to escort you to KIX airport, also known as Kansai International Airport, for your departing flight. Head to the airport with plenty of time to check in and go through security before boarding.
