    Asked on February 16th, 2025

What is the climber to guide ratio? Once reservation is made can it be changed to another date? I am open to any departure date, can I request to join a group similar to my ability?

This tour is aimed at very experienced mountaineers. One guide leads 2 mountaineers. This ratio is required by law - there cannot be more than that per guide. You can rebook to another date up to 4 weeks before the trip, which costs a €50 rebooking fee. There is a minimum number of 2 participants per date. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will inform you 14 days in advance. You can then rebook free of charge or get your payments back.

The Gouter Hut is still not open for booking 2025. We have to wait until they open for booking. The price might be same as 2024 or a little bit higher. We hope to have it ready in November 24.

    Asked on August 1st, 2024

We have a family of 4 that is interested in attempting to climb Mont Blanc next June 2025. Our girls are young, 11 and 14, but are highly determined and have extensive experience hiking at high altitudes. We also plan on improving our basic mountaineering skills ahead of time (4 day training course this winter). Would you consider guiding an ambitious family of 4 next June?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer this trip for kids – our guides will not take the risk in guiding. I am sure there are some private guides in Chamonix taking kids – but we don't do.

    Asked on June 29th, 2024

can you tell me what level of experience I need for this hike? I have a fair bit of mountaineering and hiking. I am from New Zealand, 20 years old and would require an English speaking guide.

you need to be a full experience mounteneer. High level. This is a pro tour and you also you need to bring your own mounteneering equipment. You need to be very expirenced in using crams ons on icy glacier underground. English giudes is not a problem. We need to have a minimum of 2 mounteneers on a trip.

      TravelerWritten June 2024

I have extensive experience with crampons and with glacier travel. I have done most on my mountaineering and all my glacier travel in New Zealand around Mount Cook National Park and Aspiring National Park. These have been with and without guides. I have also had mountaineering and ski touring (with crampons) experience in New Zealand, Australia, and Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA. If you need a resume of experience let me know. I can bring my own gear, I already have a lot. If you have a gear list that you recommend for the specific conditions that would be greatly appreciated.

    • World of Mountains GmbHOperatorWritten June 2024

You are obviously an experienced mountaineer. I think you will manage the tour well. I have attached an equipment list. Please note that at least 2 people must be booked for the tour to take place. According to EU law, we can cancel the trip up to 7 days before the start if the minimum number of participants has not been reached. You will of course get your payment back.
