Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes
Your hotel pickup happens around 8:00 am, so get ready for a full day exploring the Sacred Valley. First stop is Awanacancha where you'll see traditional Andean weavers at work and get up close with llamas. Then it's on to Pisac to walk through the local crafts market and check out the Pisaq Archeological Park, which has incredible ancient terraces and temples spread across the hillside. After grabbing lunch in Urubamba, you'll head to Ollantaytambo to tour the fortress there before boarding the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. By evening you'll be settled into your 3-star hotel for the night.

Machu Picchu and return to Cusco
Start with a hearty breakfast at your hotel, then catch a 25-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Your private guided tour lasts about 3 hours and takes you through the House of the Guardian, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the High Priest, Temple of the Condor, Temple of the Three Windows, Sacred Plaza, and Ushnu. After the guide portion wraps up, you'll have time to wander around freely, take photos, and just sit with the views. Lunch happens at Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel by Inkaterra, then you'll train back to Ollantaytambo and get a private bus transfer back to your Cusco hotel.
