Nairobi
You'll arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and get transferred to your hotel. From there, the afternoon is yours to do what you like, whether that's walking around Nairobi to get a feel for the city or just settling in and relaxing at the hotel.

Nairobi to Samburu
After an early breakfast, you're heading north through countryside with mountain streams, tea fields, and coffee plantations. The drive takes you through Thika and Nanyuki toward Isiolo, then continues to Samburu lodge for lunch. By afternoon, you'll get out on a game drive as the sun starts dropping.

Landmarks Samburu National Reserve - Day 3
Samburu
You start before sunrise with an early game drive, then come back for breakfast. During the morning you'll look for reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebras, and Beisa oryx that live in this region. After returning to camp, there's time to relax by the pool or on the terrace overlooking the river before lunch. Then you head out again in the afternoon for another game drive before sunset.

Samburu to Nyahururu
Leaving Samburu, you travel south through Isiolo and past Mount Kenya's foothills to reach Nanyuki. The route continues northwest to Nyahururu, which sits near the equator and has Nyahururu Falls nearby. You'll stop at the equator for photos, check into your hotel, and have lunch. Later in the day, an escorted walk takes you around the hotel grounds and down to the falls, including a visit to Hippo Pools before heading back in the late afternoon.

Nyahururu to Lake Naivasha
Starting early with breakfast, you drive south to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive where you might see flamingoes (depending on the season), Black and White rhinos, and Rothschild giraffes. After lunch at a lodge, the journey continues to Lake Naivasha, arriving in the late afternoon. Once you've checked in, there's a 1-hour boat ride on the lake to finish the day.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Following an early breakfast, you're driving to Masai Mara by ascending the Mau Escarpment and heading south through wheat and barley fields. You'll pass through Narok, the gateway to Maasailand, and reach the Mara by lunchtime. After eating and resting, an afternoon game drive takes you out until camp at sunset.

Masai Mara
You're up early for breakfast, then out for a morning game drive hunting for the Big Five - lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos - plus antelopes, gazelles, and wildebeests. Back at the lodge for lunch and a rest break, then another game drive in the afternoon that brings you back as the sun goes down.

Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 9
Masai Mara to Nairobi
You'll have breakfast and then start the drive back across rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok. From there, you cross the Rift Valley plains and climb the rift escarpment on a historic road built by Italian prisoners during World War II. You should reach Nairobi by midday for your airport drop-off or check-in at a city hotel.
