Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi to Agra
You'll start your journey heading out of Delhi toward Agra on a 3 to 4 hour road trip covering about 230 km. Once you arrive and get settled at your hotel, you have time to check out Agra Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with impressive Mughal architecture and history. Later in the afternoon, you'll head to Mehtab Bagh to catch the sunset, and from there you get a really nice view of the Taj Mahal across the river as the light changes.

- Day 2
Agra
Start this morning early and head to the Taj Mahal before crowds arrive. After breakfast back at your hotel, you'll explore a few other sites including the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah (sometimes called the Baby Taj) and the Jama Masjid. Both of these give you different perspectives on Mughal architecture and craftsmanship. By evening you'll head back to your hotel after a full day of sightseeing.

Agra to Gwalior
You'll travel from Agra to Gwalior on another road journey, about 2 to 3 hours covering 120 km. After checking into your hotel, you can walk through Gwalior Fort, which is one of India's largest forts and has multiple palaces, temples, and museums inside its walls. Later you'll check out Jai Vilas Palace and its museum, where you can see a nice mix of European and Indian architectural styles combined in one building.

Gwalior to Orchha
Today involves heading from Gwalior to Orchha, another 2 to 3 hour drive covering about 120 km. Once settled, you'll explore the Orchha Fort complex which includes several structures like Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, and Ram Raja Temple. After that you can see Chaturbhuj Temple and Raja Ram Temple. The day winds down with a walk along the Betwa River in the late afternoon, which is a nice way to relax after exploring the forts and temples.

You'll drive from Orchha to Khajuraho, a longer stretch of about 4 to 5 hours covering 180 km. After you check in, you'll visit the Western Group of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with detailed and intricate carvings. The remainder of the day is spent exploring the Eastern and Southern Groups of Temples, each with their own distinct architectural features and historical significance.

Khajuraho
This entire day is dedicated to the temples at Khajuraho. You can spend your morning and afternoon going through more temple complexes and visiting the Archaeological Museum to understand the history behind these structures. By evening you have the option to catch the sound and light show at the Western Group of Temples, which tells the story of the temples through projections and narration if you're interested.

You'll travel from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh, a 5 to 6 hour drive covering approximately 240 km. After checking into your hotel, you'll have a relaxed evening to settle in and rest up since you have wildlife safaris lined up the next day. This is a good time to grab dinner and prepare for early morning game drives.

Bandhavgarh
You have both morning and afternoon wildlife safari sessions in Bandhavgarh National Park, which has a notably high density of tigers. During these drives you'll see various mammals, birds, and reptiles as you move through different zones of the park. If you're interested, there's also the option to visit Bandhavgarh Fort, which sits within the national park boundaries and offers historical insights along with elevated views of the surrounding area.

You'll depart Bandhavgarh and head to Jabalpur Airport, a 4 to 5 hour drive covering about 200 km. A vehicle will bring you to the airport for your onward flight, wrapping up this tour of central India's historical sites, temples, and wildlife.
