  I booked Trafalgar's European Whirl Tour (August 2025) expecting professionalism and quality. Instead, I left feeling humiliated, unsafe and ignored. The most serious issue was the bus driver's behaviour. He reduced me to the colour of my skin, telling me I wasn't Australian because I am a brown-skinned woman, This racist remark was followed by unsolicted, belittling "advice" about my relationship and sexual innuendos. This was completely unprovoked and inappropriate. What made it worse was that we still had days left with this man on tour so I had to see him every day after being demeaned like that. I was so embarrassed and humiliated that I internalised it and tried to carry on because I had paid so much for this holiday. When I reported it to Trafalgar, they ignored me until I left a public one-star review. ( They will try to tell you that they have a 28 -day reply policy but I was never sent an acknowledgement of my email and I followed up twice). Only then did they send me a cold, corporate reply. Their exact words were: "We are sorry to hear your feelings regarding this matter...we will not offer any compensation for the driver's comments and conduct while the matter is being investigated". They also told me that they could not disclose the outcome of the investigation because it is "confidential". So as the victim, I am left with no closure, no accountability, and no confidence that anything will change. I would also advise future travellers to really double check the accomodation offered on this tour. Hotels are consistently located 30-60 minutes outside of city centres (Venice, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris) making it near impossible to enjoy evenings independently. Trafalgar defends this by saying they don't advertise hotels as central, but at this price point it feels misleading. Optional experiences are also heavily marked up compared to booking directly for yourselves. If you are considering Trafalgar, I would strongly recommend looking at smaller operators like Interprid who are transparent about accomodation and actually prioritise their guests' wellbeing. And yes, I anticipate Trafalgar will reply here with the same generic PR line they sent me privately that "we take these claims seriously, we are investigating, we cannot share details, etc". Please understand that this is exactly the problem, no transparency, no accountability, and no support for the customer who raised the complaint.

  The tour itself was interesting and enjoyable. There should be more transparency about approximately how much free time is available in each city. The big negative for me was the tour director made some racially targetted comments about Indians which were not appropriate in any day or age. I am highly disappointed that I have paid thousands of dollars to be on this tour and had to listen to people of my race being mocked and belittled by the person leading the tour. The comments weren't targeted at me but still targetted at people of my ethnicity. Why am I being made to feel inferior because of my ethnicity? Disgraceful behaviour. I would recommend this tour but not the tour director we had.

  From start to finish, Brendan bush,the tour director was excellent. Very organised, helpful and friendly. 12 day tours are always hectic but he managed to make it seem less daunting. The cities chosen are good.

  Recently embarked on the Trafalgar whirlwind European tour and, wow, what a journey it was! This tour's a brilliant pick for those who like ticking off all the major European highlights in one go. From the romantic streets of Paris to the historic allure of Rome, we covered all of the iconic sights. It's a bit of a sprint, though, so brace yourself for a fast-paced adventure. This might be a tad challenging for the folks who prefer a more leisurely pace or have some mobility concerns. Our guide, Brendan, was an absolute legend – knowledgeable, engaging, and always on the ball. He brought the stories of Europe alive with his insights. If you're up for a comprehensive European experience, this tour's the ticket. Just pack your best walking shoes!
