- Day 1
Reykjavik
You'll arrive in Iceland and get a transfer to Reykjavik where the rest of the day is yours to spend however you like. The city center has several things worth checking out on your own - Hallgrimskirkja Church with its distinctive architecture, the Perlan Glass Dome offering views over the city, the Sun Voyager sculpture down by the water, and the harbor area itself which has shops and restaurants. Getting oriented today means you can plan the rest of your trip without rushing.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula
You'll head out to Snaefellsnes to see some really varied landscapes all in one place. There are ancient lava tube caves to walk through, black pebble beaches where tall cliffs rise up behind them, and Kirkjufell mountain which photographers tend to love. If you're traveling during winter months, the evening brings a chance to search for Northern Lights, though it depends on weather and how clear the sky is that night.

Landmarks Kirkjufell - Day 3
Hraunfossar - Reykholt
Starting with views of Mount Kirkjufell, you'll then drive to Hraunfossar waterfall where lunch happens with the water as your backdrop. From there you'll learn about the Icelandic poet Snorri Sturluson in the small village of Reykholt. After that, you have options - soak in Krauma geothermal baths if that appeals to you, spend time at Sturlureykir horse farm, or visit Deildartunguhver which is Europe's most powerful hot spring. It's flexible depending on what interests you most.

Golden Circle to Reynisfjara
The Golden Circle route covers a lot of ground today. You'll visit Thingvellir to see where two tectonic plates meet, check out the geothermal activity in the area, and you can dip into Thingvallavatn lake if conditions allow. Later you'll see Gullfoss waterfall which drops 105 feet, then experience Strokkur hot spring shooting steam jets up into the air every few minutes. Before wrapping up, you'll head south to Seljalandsfoss waterfall and finish at Reynisfjara's famous black sand beach. As evening comes, there's a chance to watch for Northern Lights at sunset depending on weather.

Vatnajökull Ice Cave
You'll travel to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon where icebergs float in the water in all sorts of shapes and colors. From there you can search for glistening ice chunks on Diamond Beach nearby. The main event is exploring a natural ice cave inside Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier. The tour includes all necessary equipment and safety instruction so you'll be fully prepared. Note that if you're visiting before October, Katla Ice Cave is the one you'll enter during summer months.

Reynisfjara - Return to Reykjavik
You'll start at Skogafoss waterfall, then head to Reynisfjara black sand beach for your last coastal views of the trip. After that, the drive back toward Reykjavik takes you through moss-covered lava fields with snow-capped mountains visible in the distance. By evening you might see Northern Lights at sunset if the conditions are right. It's a good day for soaking in all the landscape before heading home.

Departure
On your last morning, you'll soak in the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa for about 3 hours on the way to the airport. This is a nice way to relax and warm up before heading home. By noon you'll drive to the airport to catch your return flight. It's a chance to reflect on everything you've seen during your time in Iceland and say goodbye to the people you've traveled with.
