Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Hanoi to Bac Son

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll get picked up and head to Bac Son in Lang Son province. The drive takes you through rural areas with several stops for photos along the way. Once there, you can climb up to the mountain tops to see the valley below. The landscape here is something special - those 500 to 1200 meter mountains rise right up from the paddy fields, and the views from above really show why this place draws visitors.

    Included Activities

    • Hotel pickup after breakfast
    • Scenic drive to Bac Son with photo stops
    • Mountain climbing to view valley landscape
    Landmarks
    Bac Son Valley
  2. Day 2

Bac Son to Lang Son via Mau Son

Today you're traveling to Mau Son, a former French resort that's now got dozens of old abandoned buildings scattered around. You'll ride a motorcycle along winding roads to reach the summit, which sits over 1,500 meters high. From up there, you can see across into China. After spending time taking photos and looking at the landscape, you'll ride back down to Lang Son city where you'll stay overnight.

    Included Activities

    • Visit abandoned French colonial buildings
    • Scenic ride to summit at 1,500+ meters altitude

Along the way, you'll pass through rice terraces and quiet villages where you can stop and chat with locals over food. Later you'll reach Ban Gioc waterfall, which drops 53 meters straight down and stretches 300 meters across as it marks the border with China. The falls flow in three distinct levels like giant steps. You'll stay overnight near Ban Doc.

Bao Lac to Dong Van via Ha Giang, Meo Vac, Ma Pi Leng Pass, and Lung Cu

This day might involve some road construction and tougher riding conditions, but you'll see cloud-filled valleys and villages with smoke rising from chimneys. You'll pass through Meo Vac where H'mong, King, Tay, and Dzao ethnic groups live and keep their traditional ways. Before heading to Ma Pi Leng Pass, you'll need a border permit from Ha Giang's Immigration Police. That pass sits between Dong Van and Meo Vac with cloudy mountains and the Nho Que river visible below. Then you'll ride 40km to Lung Cu Flag pole at Vietnam's northern point, backtrack on steep zig-zag roads to Vuong Family's Residence (14km before Dong Van), which blends Chinese architecture with wood and imported stones in a scenic valley. Our family booked the Ho Chi Minh to Phu Quoc tour through Viet Long Travel, and it was the best decision we made. Ms Loan helped us arrange every detail and made the process stress-free. In Ho Chi Minh City, we enjoyed both history and architecture with visits to the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Central Post Office. The Cu Chi Tunnels tour was a favorite for our teens, as they loved learning about the underground network. Cruising along the Mekong Delta gave us a glimpse of daily life, and the food was incredible. Phu Quoc Island was like paradise—especially the cable car ride over the sea, which gave us amazing views. Highly recommend Viet Long Travel if you want a well-balanced, worry-free adventure in Southern Vietnam.

My husband and I joined the Magnificent Vietnam 11-day tour, and it was the highlight of our travels in Asia. We loved the variety of activities: exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, strolling through the ancient town of Hoi An, cruising along Halong Bay, and wandering Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Mr. Minh, our guide, was outstanding—so knowledgeable and patient, always ready to share stories that brought Vietnam’s history and culture to life. The pace was just right, giving us time to enjoy each destination without feeling rushed. We left with beautiful memories and a deeper appreciation for Vietnam.

Traveling with Viet Long Travel on the 12-day Vietnam–Cambodia tour was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Everything was well arranged, from hotels to transfers, and the guides truly made the difference. Mr. Minh in Vietnam always went the extra mile, even helping us try local street food in Hanoi and arranging a lantern-making workshop in Hoi An. The Halong Bay cruise was luxurious yet authentic — a real once-in-a-lifetime experience. In Cambodia, our guide impressed us with her deep knowledge of Angkor’s history. Watching sunrise at Angkor Wat with her guidance was magical and something we will never forget. This tour gave us so many memories and we’ll surely recommend it to friends and family.
