Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Thamel, the main tourist area. After you check in and meet your guide and fellow trekkers at the office, the evening is open for wandering around Kathmandu on your own. It's a chance to get your bearings and shake off travel fatigue.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing

    Following breakfast, you'll take a half-day cultural tour around Kathmandu. The morning covers Pashupatinath Temple on the Bagmati River banks, then Boudhanath Stupa, which locals call 'Little Tibet'. After that, you'll see Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares with their medieval temples and palaces before heading back by early afternoon.

    Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

    You'll catch a local bus heading north through rural Nepal toward Langtang, a 7 to 8 hour journey. The landscapes shift as you go, starting with rice paddies and moving into terraced maize and millet fields as elevation increases. The bus reaches Dhunche, then you descend to Syabrubesi village where you'll stay the night.

  4. Day 4

    Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

    Trekking starts from Syabrubesi, following trails next to the Bhote Koshi River and Langtang Khola. You'll walk through rough terrain to Bamboo village, then take gentler slopes toward Rimche for lunch. By evening you reach Lama Hotel, a scenic spot where red pandas, monkeys, and bears sometimes show up.

  5. Day 5

    Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

    The trail goes through rhododendron and oak forests on gentle uphill sections, then alongside the glacial Trishuli River through a gorge. After 3 hours you'll reach Ghoda-Tabela, then continue through alpine forest with winding terrain, some ups and downs. Langtang Village comes into view with Langtang Himal visible from there.

  6. Day 6

    Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

    You'll trek on gradual paths with winding uphills through high alpine shrubs and past mani prayer walls. As altitude increases, the valley opens into grassy meadows with snow-capped peaks coming into view. Take your time reaching Kyanjin Gompa, which sits on a glacial moraine ridge and offers panoramic views in every direction.

  7. Day 7

    Kyanjin Gompa Rest Day

    Today is for resting and acclimatizing at Kyanjin Gompa. You can walk to the local cheese factory and try their cheese, hike the moraine to see icefalls and glaciers, or tackle the steeper Kyanjin Ri climb for higher altitude views. A short stroll behind the village gives you great looks at Langtang peak.

    Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

    The descent back to Lama Hotel takes 6 to 7 hours, retracing your route through Langtang Village. You'll see Langtang mountain ranges the whole way down and get glimpses of traditional village life. The trail is rugged and challenging, so bring sturdy hiking boots and pace yourself accordingly.

  9. Day 9

    Lama Hotel to Upper Syabru Village

    You'll descend through rhododendron and juniper forests to Upper Syabru Village over 5 to 6 hours. Rocky trails make up most of the route, and you'll want to take breaks and check in with how your body is handling the descent. You'll sleep at a tea house in the village.

  10. Day 10

    Upper Syabru Village to Shin Gompa

    The trek climbs about 1,000 meters through dense green rhododendron forests and streams. You'll reach Phoprang Danda at 3,190 meters, which is a great spot for Himalayan views, then continue uphill to Shin Gompa in 4 to 5 hours. A tea house near the yak cheese factory is where you'll stay overnight.

    Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake

    From Shin Gompa, you trek to Gosaikunda Lake in about 4 to 5 hours. Hindu devotees consider this pristine freshwater lake a sacred place of Lord Shiva and Gauri. If you want more views, Surya Peak is nearby for additional hiking. You'll finish the day at Cholangpati.

    Gosaikunda Lake Exploration

    Gosaikunda to Ghopte Odar

    You'll start heading back from Gosaikunda Lake, crossing Gosaikunda Pass then descending to Ghopte Odar over 4 to 5 hours. Dense alpine forests full of lush vegetation line the route, and Langtang views continue throughout the day as you make your way down.

    Ghopte Odar to Kutumsang

    Trekking from Ghopte Odar to Kutumsang takes 5 to 6 hours through dense forested areas with diverse plants and animals. Kutumsang sits at 2,470 meters and has a pleasant climate with great Himalayan views from the north side. The peaceful vibe makes it a nice rest point.

    An early morning descent from Chisapani Danda takes you through local villages showing traditional Nepalese life. You'll pass through Shivapuri National Park with its protected forests and wildlife, then trek down to Sundarijal to see the famous nearby waterfall. From there, a bus takes you back to Kathmandu for your final night, about an hour's ride.

    Manaslu Circuit Trek 2024 with The Great Adventure Treks & Expedition team is truly a remarkable adventure that offers spectacular views of high mountains and beautiful. when we were starting this Manaslu circuit trek, I was afraid that I might not be able to do it, but our guide Pasang Lama was very understanding to us, very young and full knowledgeable mountain trekking guide, helpful, smart, everyday briefing elevation distance and geographic about the day hike, the areas rich cultural experiences, and challenging trekking terrain. Manaslu trek route in the Gorkha west region of Nepal is renowned for its diverse landscapes, from hills green forests and terraced fields to high mountain passes and barren landscapes in this route with The Great Adventure as your guide Pasang Lama, you can expect a well-organized and unforgettable challenging trekking experience.
