Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Brasov
You'll arrive in Brasov from noon onwards, with an optional morning transfer available from Bucharest if you want to stop at Peles Castle on the way. Once there, your guide will help you get your bicycle sorted and run through a quick orientation before you head into the medieval old center to check out the Black Church. There's a welcome drink waiting for you when you arrive.

Brasov to Talisoara
After breakfast, you'll cycle 65 km north through villages like San Petru, Bod, and Feldioara, then follow the Olt River for about 38 km. Along the way, you'll stop at Count Kalnoky Castle in Miclosoara, a fortress from 1211. From there, it's another 10 km to Talisoara where you'll spend the night at Daniel Castle, which has been nicely restored.

Talisoara to Viscri
Today's a 55 km cycle along the Olt River through small villages to reach Viscri, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guide can help you pick between two routes: the longer paved option via Varghis or the shorter unpaved road through Racos (guide-assisted). You'll stop for lunch in Rupea, then explore Viscri's fortified church, a felt-craft workshop, and a traditional brick and tile workshop. You'll stay in local traditional guesthouses.

Viscri to Cincsor
Leaving Viscri, you'll cycle 52 km to Cincsor on a mix of paved and gravel roads, passing through Dacia and Jibert. There's an 8 km forest climb that's pretty tough, so you might need to walk your bike at points, but the views make it worthwhile. You'll break for organic lunch at a biodiversity farm in Cobor village, then finish up in Cincsor, staying at a converted former parish house.

Cincsor to Sighisoara
You'll cycle about 64 km on paved roads north from Cincsor through Dealu Frumos (Romania's geographical center) and Agnita before reaching Sighisoara, another UNESCO World Heritage site. If you're interested, there's a 10 km detour to Movile village to see a fortified church restoration and grab lunch there. Once in Sighisoara, you can explore the historical citadel, one of seven medieval fortified cities that's still inhabited and remarkably well preserved. After that, you can either stay overnight or catch a train onward.
