Jodhpur’s fort was a favorite, and Agra’s Taj Mahal was every bit as stunning as expected. The driver was always on time and gave good local tips. Some hotels were a little dated, but all were clean and had hot water. Every place had something unique, from Pushkar’s holy lake to Bikaner’s rat temple (strange but interesting!). The guide in Jaisalmer really made the city come alive for us. Hotels were fine and clean. The driver made the road stretches manageable with good music and photo stops. Even the smaller places like Kumbhalgarh surprised us with beautiful scenery and interesting forts. Our guide in Jodhpur took us to a lesser-known stepwell that wasn’t crowded at all. Hotels were modest but always clean. We got to try street food safely with our guide’s help. The driver navigated beautifully through all kinds of roads and even taught us a few Hindi phrases.
